I usually don't listen to HOF speeches, but this one was good. Coop was such an important part of the 80's dynasty. Loved how he paid tribute to the logo.

This is so deserved. I’m so happy for Coop mainly because the lakers have an unwritten rule that you can’t get your jersey retired till you’re a HOF. For ANY other franchise, a man who played his entire career with 1 franchise and won 5 rings for an iconic dynasty that changed the popularity of the sport would get that honor easily. But now he will get that #21 rightfully in the rafters. And he’s such a great ambassador for the lakers franchise. Truly purple and gold through and through.

I am a nurse, and i had the pleasure in meeting cooper at the nursing home i was working at, he was visiting one of his relatives. He saw that i was so excited to meet him that he went to his car and brought me a bobble head of himself. What a cool guy. You deserve it cooper!

Coop's HOF speech was the fourth one that has made me cry. Jerry Sloan (Norm Van Lier story); Oscar Schmidt (wife tribute); Ralph Sampson (Artis Gilmore story) and now this one - a few times. His Jim Chones reference as well as recognizing the other defense-first HOFers.

Regardless, what about Laimbeer? The fact most people hate his guts doesn’t take anything away from a phenomenal career
The man was a 4 time all-star, 1 time lead rebounder, starting center of a back-to-back team that reached 3 finals in a row and 5 conference finals in a row, and that was during the golden era of centers

Even so, he also had a phenomenal coaching career.
