I watched every game that I could from the Showtime Lakers. And I loved Michael Cooper. His defense was amazing, his “alley-oop to Coop” always got the crowd worked up, and his 3 point shooting saved the Lakers in critical situations.

This news surprised me. I believe he is deserving of the honor…but his play was more important than his stats. I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE SPEECH and reunion with Magic, Kareem, Worthy, Jamaal and Riley. Hopefully we can welcome Byron Scott in one day!

I done got started, I am so happy Coop in Hall of Fame now! I went to those Laker Parades, I know I got a lot of Laker Fans from back in day in downtown Los Angeles when the Lakers, magic, Kareem, scott, worthy, on the float, we were running down alleys to get to next intersection, you talking fun😂, the very first Title we did that! Went to the game at the Fabulous Fourm, wow! Chick hern Days! 😅

My all time favorite Laker. I wore #21 and the long socks while playing D to emulate him. One hell of a nice guy off the court. Should definitely be in the Hall of Fame!

Hall of Fame is definitely warranted. He guarded the Jordan and Drexlers of the world. They did not just win, they dominated. It wasn't just offense that propelled them to titles. DPY of the year, multiple championships.

Coop was such a very good player; one of the GOAT defenders (on-ball locking down PG’s, SG’s or SF’s, winning charges, but also getting steals and he’s one of the best shot blocking guards ever), one of the greatest 6th men in history (with instant energy off the bench), a great athlete, was one of the top spot-up shooters in the league, he hustled all out, terrific tenacity and will to play, was big time in the clutch, had a high IQ... he’s even underrated in some aspects like playmaking and running the offense, which the Lakers badly missed - whenever Magic went to the bench - when Coop retired.

Maybe the most underestimated Laker ever. He was the 1st alley oop(Coop-a-loop) I ever saw. I had no words. Took my nephew to the Forum and got meet Coop before the game, couldn't be nicer.

Coop was a bad man! Even if you weren't a Lakers fan you had to respect his game. He was similar to Rodman in terms of being a superstar role player. He wasn't a huge rebounder, but a great defender and brought a spark when he played. He was a more offensive oriented, guard version of Rodman. He was a real key players in the Lakers dynasty. HOF for COOP!
