“It means your still alive, it means your still breathing.” That just sent shivers down my spine.

Man, hearing Jocko makes me miss my dad. My dad overcame every illness he had, until the cancer got him. Over the course of 20 years since his early 30's until his early 50' he went through a lot. Went through two heart attacks, and survived; then through a coronary artery bypass surgery, and survived, ;then went through a stroke, and survived; then went through a major stroke and had to relearn to walk talk and eat. He went through all this and recovered each time, not 100%, but enough that he can be autonomous. He never doubtet he would get better. RIP dad.

“Sir, we’ve ran out of ammunition and the enemy is advancing.”
Jokko: “Good. Just another opportunity to practice jiu jitsu.”

I hope someone’s sees this. This kept me alive. This made me move forward. This inspired me from a position that seemed impossible. I’m writing this to a world of people that are probably in my position. These are the words we need to hear

This single video has inspired me to get out of the bed from a 6 month depression. Now I'm on the warpath, 30 lbs lighter and employed. Thanks Jocko!

I used this “good” thing with my wife when she had problems, we definitely had a talk about me not doing that anymore 🤣

Hit and Run June 2022. Broke my neck in 3 places. Lost complete control of my right shoulder, arm, hand. I’m one week back in the gym. Thank you Jocko 🙏🏽

Kid— “Dad I failed 5th grade”

Jocko— “ good… that means you will be older and bigger then the kids in your class, giving you superior tactical advantage over the enemy.”

Me - “My fiancé broke up with me”

Jocko - “Good. A chance to re-engage.”

This is the polar opposite of my attitude for the last 47 years. That needs to change.

Trevor Lawrence referenced this in his post-game interview after their comeback victory. This was definitely "good" to be ingrained in the teams mindset

I wish I could upgrade the Alexa in my kitchen to be a Jocko.

Nietzsche was the one who did the job for me. At a certain moment in his life, the idea came to him of what he called ‘the love of your fate.’ Whatever your fate is, whatever the hell happens, you say, ‘This is what I need.’ It may look like a wreck, but go at it as though it were an opportunity, a challenge. If you bring love to that moment — not discouragement — you will find the strength is there. Any disaster you can survive is an improvement in your character, your stature, and your life. What a privilege! This is when the spontaneity of your own nature will have a chance to flow.

Love it. I miss my dad. He would say, "When you are down or feel at your lowest, it is the chance to get up and feel greatest." I try to coach my son the same. Thank you for sharing your powerful message.
