Are you sure about the dating on the UA geolocations in Niu york?

It is perfectly possible that the UA mapping shows what happened AFTER the geolocations.

And of course, if you don't know WHEN they were filmed at all, well then, there's nothing saying that it might not even have been part of when Russia took the city in the first place.
The UA mapping would certainly suggest that or something more in that direction at least.

It COULD be just a forward recon by Russia.
However, with the overall situation, i think it's fairly likely that someone in charge on UA side has come to their senses and pulled most or perhaps even all forces back behind the canal, to shorten the front and give it a tiny bit better defensive ground.
And the Russia troops most likely simply pursued as strongly as they could.
It's not impossible that they were aiming to follow UA across the canal even. Especially if they could have caught up with whatever was the rearguard troops. But if that had happened, chances are that we would have heard about even greater advances.

Although, still some small possibility for it if we get an update tomorrow or the day after about it.
