I'm awful at remembering how to tie knots! I need the knot to tie a rope to my bird cage. After some searching I finally found your video. The double fisherman's bend knot looks like it's going to be the perfect knot for my project. Thanks so much❤

Found the info great.. but a little hard for a first-timer to follow AND practice at the same time... can see me returning to recap!!!! Either way.. thank you

Excellent video, just a heads up on your sheet bend portion. The sheet bend you tied is the unsafe "left hand" variety. Tails need to be on the same side. Opposite sides is much weaker and less secure per lots of formal pull testing. Not that it's unusable, but much more likely to work loose and lower strength.

Hi Bino, just wanna say thank you so much for making our life a bit easier. On the second note, is Double Fisherman’s Bend is your favorite termination hitch? Cuz you surely could’ve started with the Anchor Hitch which is a lot easier lol

Great video Bino. Very clear and detailed! Whats the best knot to use with a blakes for ascending? If your using a double rope method.

Im going to watch this video everyday. I bought 12mm non stretch rope for climbing. Talk about a beginner who thinks bigger is safer. Lmao its like trying to tie a steel cable.can you tell a little about the rope and its features good or bad. Rookies like myself know absolutely nothing about it. We just have an idea of climbing and are putting the puzzle together. This video is awesome and in my library.

Ok so ima just ask and try this a different way, im hanging a tree swing on one branch too high i cant climb and dont have ladder high enough, my board for the swing part has the 4 holes with my rope going through, i already cut them to be individually in each hole, not like lopped down through and up out other hole, and figure like a double figure 8 knott would be fine for holding underneath the seat board, but im unsure what exactly i should do for joining the two ropes from both sides, up to my two ropes coming down from branch, ive rifht now just have one giant long rope ide manged to get up ovwr the branch once, was thinking ide toss it up over a couple more times, then do same for second rope on other side, but what knott should i be using to combine the two ropes from the sides of my seat, and what knott should i use to connect the 2 sides of swing ropes, to the two coming down off branch? Think ive watched too many confusing knott videos and im all tangled trying to apply the knotts ive learned, i just dont know which will be the best.

Thanks for doing these videos. I have learned so much. I have a question though, what is wrong with a double overhand knot as a stopper knot?

I had an idea for a video and for new climbers for moving rope system, is put a split tail and Blake's hitch from hitch climber pulley above you friction hitch, then decent becomes a 2 step process.

When weighted pull Blake's hitch down, then main friction hitch, but you only drop down till the Blake's hitch grabs,

Thank you both for doing this video. I am getting prepared to climb and cut a big dead branch so this will definitey help.
Bino, I think there is a small typo in the title at second 14 in the video "Tree Experiance" -> "Experience" maybe? For the next video, Cheers ;)

Great video mate from Australia, a couple I didn't know and will try them out.
Question: with the bowline, why do you finish the tail on the inside?
I got taught to always finish the tail on the outside of the hole so that it doesn't get in the way when using carabiners on a bowline.
I'm just curious. Cheers

i can never remember how to do a alpine butterfly like that so i just twist the roap and feed the bite around and into the twist do the double prity much the same way although i normaly just use the figher off 8 in the middle off the line for a conection point although you can only load it in one direction i also don't climb trees just rock good video though!!

If I didn’t learn anything else, I learned to “tie, dress, and set it”… all jokes aside, great video!

Thanks for sharing this!
Where do you purchase your ropes and what type / brands, please.
Thanks,
Steve

Careful w/your Sheet Bend. You want both ends above (or both below) the knot, when done. Just flip your initial bight over. Double Sheet Bend is a good bit more secure.
