I was really depressed not too long ago. A big change happened in my family (a bad one) and it kinda woke me up to be a man. Now I can say that I'm feeling really well and I've been working on myself for 3 months with a lot of discipline, persistence and hardwork. I broke the bad habits and started to incorporate healthy ones. You all shoud do the same, life feels a lot different and better now. I'm slowly building up my confidence, carreer, self esteem, social skills etc... And I know for sure that if I keep going, it's only I matter of time till I get to the top.

Ironically, the number one cause of anxiety and depression is concern about the opinions of others.

This video gave me a real nice dopamine hit

This is good and relevant but there's one thing missing. There's more than one reason people seek these abusive seeking pleasures. Not just because of an addiction to dopamine, it's also because of lack of purpose in today's society. We're a consumer driven society these days. We live under broken or corrupt governments etc. If you get everyone off an addiction to dopamine we might just revolt and try to take back what was lost lol.

I've realized that I've been getting lazy and playing games way too much.

Lately I've gotten a job and im good at it and I like what im doing there, it makes me stronger and it pays well.

For about half a year I've been in the dumps but it's time I fixed myself, it's time I find myself again and do better and greater things because life is too short not too.

If your like me I hope you do the same, if your reading this why not go for a jog or just sit down and spend time with family or friends.

Depression isn't easy to control, you practically can't control your self at all when it hits, you just shut down because you don't want to feel pain again.
But you know you should go to the place you sposed too, like work, school, therapy and other stuff like that.

But I can assure you if you try to fight depression, and anxiety, you will feel better if you spend at least one hour outside or spending time with others.

And if your young and reading this hold onto your happiness, reach for your goals that you want to happen and make them happen.
This world is ours and we can do anything we want in it, take chances, risks and make your mark on this world.

I will change, I promise. I know it won't be easy, but I will change for good this time.

Everything said in this video is great, but it's only a part of the puzzle. What if we're not meant to work the way we do? Everything covered in this video is about how we use our personal time. The dark side to almost every western citizens life is the perpetual need for currency to pay their never ending bills. All of these dopamine producing escapes seem to be a way for most people to cope with this situation we find ourselves living in every day of our adult life.

There doesn't seem to be a solution, only band-aids. Whether you game, watch Netflix, read a classic novel or paint a masterpiece, at the end of the day you gotta pay your bills. And it never fucking ends, hence the escapism begins.

This is why psychedelics are so cool they bring you back to that childhood curiosity and amazement you had. It's almost like experiencing a new world all over again

"If you are looking to unwind, and reading a few bookpages doesn't appeal to you, you know you are seaking a dopamine kick." great one.

did not expect to see "excessive theorizing" on here. I am getting a philosophy degree so this fucked me up but it makes so much sense

This doesn’t happen over night. It’s a very... very slow transition. Quitting my bad habits and addictions is proving quite difficult. Regardless, progress is made, that’s what matters.

This must be why exercise is strongly suggested - it’s an equal tradeoff between work and dopamine reward

Drastically cut down on pleasure activities. You have to simulate struggle and discomfort, I think. Not the worst of problems to have, but still very challenging.

So much wisdom in such a short video.

Mental masterbation has derailed so many goal's in my life. For an unknown reason I never realized it until your video put this in a tangible perspective.

Thank You!
