Upon officially surrendering my life to Jesus a few years ago, I had felt led to get baptised- nobody really asked me to. It didn’t make me saved- only what Jesus did and having faith in Jesus- for me being baptised was an outward action based on an inward transformation I’d say. During my baptism, I was able to share my testimony to others too, and publicly declare that I was a follower of Jesus, - it made me so happy and proud to say in front of everyone that I believed in Jesus! And i gained more confidence as I thought ‘well if I can get baptised in front of people, I can surely live out loud for Jesus now!..

He that believes AND is baptized will be saved - Jesus Christ

With the Eunuch in Acts 8, it wasn’t a public declaration. It was a personal decision the Eunuch made to the Lord he chose to be a follower of Jesus, a disciple. No one was around when he was baptized and he already experienced change of the heart before he was even baptized.

But if you really love God and put your faith in him, guess what you're going to do? You’ll show him publicly how much you really love him, just like getting married in public and giving him that wedding ring by the way of getting baptized. I'm not saying that it will guarantee you to go to heaven, but it will help your Christian life more. Baptism is one way of pleasing and loving him, and if you really love him, you will not argue whether you should give him that wedding ring or not. Just get baptized, you guys, because when the time comes that we will be judged and God says why you aren't baptized while I get baptized by John, and I told you so in Matthew 28:16, right? What are you going to tell him? Would you argue with him, saying, Oh, because I trust you that much, I don’t need those actions because actions would not bring me to heaven? Guys Baptism is not bad, and as I said, he even got baptized. Just do not rely on it and be balanced. It is his command, and if we love him, we will obey him. All love❤️

The analogy with the wedding ring is an inherently flawed analogy, simply because a baptism can't be removed like a wedding ring can. Once you're baptized, you're baptized. Yes a wedding ring is a symbol of marriage, but like I said, a ring can be removed, a baptism can't. They only way that analogy would work, is if we wore something to show that we have been baptized. Like a baptism ring of sorts. But, if baptism is just a symbol, then the analogy fails again. Because then you would be wearing a symbol of a symbol, which doesn't make any sense. It would be like wearing a wedding necklace to symbolize that you have a wedding ring. It just doesn't make sense. The only way the hypothetical 'baptism ring' would work, is if baptism actually did something, cause then you would be wearing a symbol of your baptism which made you a Christian. Just like the wedding ring, is a symbol of the wedding ceremony which makes you married.

And as for baptism supposedly being a 'work' that you need to do to get to heaven, my response to that would be this.

Baptism is God's grace working through something physical. Thats the entire point of the Sacraments. They're God using physical things to help us understand and interact with God's grace. And since baptism is a way of God giving his grace to us, it's still 100% God's grace that saves us, not our own works. Baptism is not a work of man, it is a work of God. And the last thing I'm going to say is this. Jesus clearly stated for us to follow him, we must deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow him. Matthew 16:24 RSV "Then Jesus told his disciples "If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me" " Those seem like things, or, works you must do to truly follow Jesus. Now once again, I'm not saying we're saved by our works, we're saved by grace through faith, but faith includes doing what Christ commanded us to do, like good works, and yes, being baptized.

I hope this helps anyone who sees this comment. Have a nice day, and God bless.

You HAVE to be BAPTIZED because CHRIST SAID SO. It's not our works that save us but our obedience to Christ. Adam and Eve were punished because of their disobedience. We obey Christ and we do what he says and if we don't OBEY we don't go to heaven.
*CHRIST: Whosoever believes and is baptized shall be saved. He who does not believe shall be condemned*

Nothing you said was found in the Holy Bible. You made up wedding ring, baptism is just a symbol.

This is not what the bible teaches. Why does Jesus say you won't enter the kingdom if you don't get born again in spirit and in water?
