The self glorifying lovers of self refuse to accept their absolute total depravity of any good thing about themselves. Their unregenerate logic is their "logos."

He doesn't even realize the depths of his contempt for the glory of God.

And the definition of arbitrary that Flowers sites squares exactly with the reasons for creation in Rev 4.

The soul that's been granted a glimpse of God's glory (Which is ultimately a Person) desires nothing except to be near and behold that beauty not become it. See Psalm 27

You're right. These men are very arrogant and self-centered. If from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. They only show the work of original sin in their hearts.


Oddly enough, God has told us the reason He made us. They just don't like the it and/or dont see the glory of it and thus desire something "more". And therefore they'll ultimately end up with neither.
