It might be easier to start with a form of music that you're already interested in and find a band that is heavily influenced by jazz. If you're into rock, check out some fusion players. In time you will come to understand jazz, it just takes a couple steps to get there. Studying jazz is the best thing you can do for your musicianship, don't give up. Good luck!

Personal preference, I don't like the sound of this scale ascending. It works much better in a descending run, which puts all the "chord tones" on downbeats. For instance, go up a G7b9 arp then descending down the scale sounds great!

Thanks mate for a lesson. I love to get inspiration to play from as many sources as possible. Today i started from learning megadeth track, then went to Bach prelude in e-major -sounds soooo good, created my own few riffs and tricks and now im trying to play some jazz. All the music is cool, no metter gender you can learn cool flamenco, blues, funk, even Cannibal Corpse has some great licks:-)
