Gypsy Jazz Lick Lesson - E7 to Am - #1

Hey everyone, here's a little gypsy jazz style lick over E7 to Am.

I noticed after making this video that my picking on the top string at full tempo was slightly different to the slower version. I don't really think too much about picking while I'm playing and will often pick the same things differently at different tempos. If you want to play this lick fast I would recommend using the slower picking version in the video as it avoids a double down stroke from the top E to the G string. The picking in the full tempo version is a little harder to play but it will give the lick more pop as the down strokes will naturally accent notes differently. Here is the picking pattern from the full tempo version on the top string...

7th fret down
10th fret up
8th fret down (followed by the hammer and pull off)
7th fret down
10th fret up
8th fret down

I hope that makes sense but let me know if you have any questions about it

Cheers

Thanks for sharing, Remi! Do you have sheets for some of the songs you play or even your songs? You're an awesome Gypsy jazz guitarist, and watching your videos is helping me understand some patterns such as note timings, so I'm searching for music sheets to compliment my studies. I wish you success, God bless you.
