(1) hit the gym. (2) hit the gym. (3) get a life: volunteer, travel, learn to cook, BE INTERESTING. (4) be positive, because if you're going after much younger women, you're going to be rejected, a lot. (5) don't hide behind your computer, i.e. dating apps. (6) get comfortable approaching women. Lastly, (7) don't take rejection personally. It doesn't mean she doesn't like you, you're just not what she happens to be looking for.

I'm 55 and I feel like I was pretty much ruined for dating in my late 20's when the woman I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with cheated and called off the engagement. I didn't do so much as get a woman's phone number for more than eleven years after that, then tried to enter back into the dating pool in my late 30's with all the experience of a 20-something guy. Failed a lot, took myself off the market for another seven years, failed a little more. I think by the time we all hit our 50's, for one reason or another that don't have to sound like mine... We just don't wanna do it anymore.

Here is the best advise, protect your assets... no date turning into a long term relationship is worth losing your assets on the last phase of your life. Unless the laws change, which they wont.. the moment someone puts a ring on it are now at the mercy of no fault divorce and or states that have common law regardless if you have a pre-nup.

55 and haven’t really tried to date for a long time to be honest and am glad now from what I know from others that I didn’t try to much at it - I mean I did try at one time via online dating for a month then realised it’s a pointless pursuit for most men who are not in the top 7-10 range . Best to leave it to the women as they have a much better chance than men in the dating world . They used to say it’s a man’s world but not anymore .

Another country is probably your best bet if you want a true traditional relationship that lasts. Phillipines is one great place. For some reason US women rarely stay in a relationship for life. Its just your turn in other words.

Men, do not hesitate for one moment to put a restraining order against your female partner if you feel your safety and health is in jeopardy. Placing a permanent restraining order on my female partner was absolutely the wisest protective move of my adult lifetime. My only regret is not doing it years earlier. Men, be safe!

I am 55. The last guy I dated was a drop dead gorgeous european guy, 34 years old, tall, blonde, blue eyes, with a God's body, humble, intelligent and on top of that a good lover and a good person. When I met him I was going through a health condition and I thought God had sent me an angel. I am sorry but in my modest opinion, men my age look like my older brother, uncle or something like this. I would rather be alone than making love to someone who looks neglected, and on top of that, the attitude of feeling superior, that is even worse. Anyway, in general, I like and respect men.
