Rates have increased again according to Allstate. Illinois and Georgia seem to be getting the brunt of the rate increase but, is it the end or will other states see a 40% insurance rate increase?

I switched from Farmers in 2019 on my auto insurance, I'm in Texas. My quote from Allstate was 116.00 a month full coverage. My monthly bill kept increasing over the past 3 years. My auto insurance bill for December 2022 is 134.85. I received my new bill for January 2023 it has increased by 42.07! It's 176.92. I am shopping around for a lower rate...this is insane!!!!

In Florida you are lucky to find an insurance company--most left the State.

It appears my 6-mo premium with Allstate in GA has increased 67%. $1283 to $2155. One claim against us for $600 for a rear end bump plus the "following to close" ticket from an officer that wasn't even there, and speeding, both more than 3 years ago. We have been on the Drivewise app for six months and seldom get any negatives on it which are pretty easy to get. They also insure my home. I'll be looking for better rates.

I have been with Allstate for about 20 years. They raised my 6 month premiums 1000 dollars. No tickets no claims and excellent credit. Currently shopping around!
Any suggestions?

What is the best insurance company for claims experience? I would rather pay more and know that my claims experience will be easy and smooth.

Do you think Allstate will exit the California market like Geico did? I’m having trouble finding news on Allstate, including any predictions

Thanks for this very informative video - am now glad I don't live in GA (I live in PA) and definitely am glad am not insured by Allstate. Even though they may have had a premium decrease last year, a 40% increase (over 1/3rd?!) seems unreasonable even with some costs rising. It makes me feel better about my monthly increase - nothing near THAT amount - I have State Farm and think part of the reason for the slight increase (mine had been decreasing over the past few years) is because of hitting a certain age possibly - but since I bundle auto and homeowners it's hard to tell. As far as Drivewise or whatever other carriers call those gadgets - I might be old school - but to me they seem to be too Big Brotherish to use and be possibly worthwhile, especially if you don't drive that much.
