I’m a Chinese student.If you want to get an offer from this two universities, you have to be the top 100 students in one million students in a province like Guangdong.It’s harder than an American student get an offer from Harvard university or Stanford.

I am a Tsinghua student myself. Tuition of Chinese universities is rather low, or even a negative one, as most international students can easily get access to generous scholarships. However, at least till now, there are rarely any English programs and they require every international student to have a good command of Chinese. They don't really need a high GPA or SAT or GRE score, but you should pass interviews that focus on your Chinese capacity and ideas towards certain topics. Anyway, getting into PKU or THU is not a challenge for those who have already learnt Chinese. Many international students in Tsinghua are actually Asian who failed to get into top universities in America.
