A topic completely missed in this video is how your entire livelihood in the US is dependent on your job. For example, if you lose your job with a H1B visa, you risk deportation unless you find another job in the next 2 months, regardless of how long you've been living in the US. That is a constant fear you have to deal with.

I never understood the American dream. Why dream of a small chance to become rich if you could dream of (or better yet work on) society in general not being poor?

No, there are no payday loans because people do not receive paychecks. Most are paid directly into their bank accounts. Checks have been archaic here for decades.

For me, living in a first world country ( Scandinavia ) I can 100% say, out of all the first world countries. I am most happy not to have been born in the US.
Not just because of the overall ( often 3 world ) conditions, poverty and lack of basic human needs. But because of how crazy it is. You have to fear even things that is meant to be there to keep you safe. As the police or the healthcare sector.
For people living in first world countries, it only make sense to go to the US, if you have a personal reason. Or if you are rich enough to pay to not have to deal with the ton of issues and basic needs you have to pay your way out of.

For people in other parts of the world. Where they also live in poverty or dangerous places. It can make sense to move to the US, not because you can avoid the same form of poverty, crime or danger. Because its in the US, and some places worse than where they are from. However in the US, you can, with luck and skill work yourself to something better. Something you can't in many 3 world countries.

As to the US laws about immigrations. Well they are dumb. Like really dumb.
Not only inhumane, as so much else in the US. They actually counter, good and safe immigration. It leads to more crime. more cost. Its a overall net negative. Not because of the immigrants. But because of the laws and rules.
And that is so dumb. But sadly classic US.

Same here in the UK. So many people simply don't understand how important immigration is; with an ageing population and so many people fleeing key sectors, it's vital.

I don’t know anyone who wants to move to America, only people who want to move away

In Germany, paychecks have been obsolute since the 1960s and checks in general since the 1980s.
The US banking system is comically outdated

Brit here, we emigrated from Lincolnshire to America 27 years ago to start dairy farming in Wisconsin via an E2 treaty investor visa, this visa enabled us to get a good foot hold in the US, with this visa you don’t have to have a tremendous amount of money but you have to have a very good business plan to convince the US INS that you are committed and confident in your enterprise, consequently you need a good US visa consultant to submit the visa application, this E2 visa although is one way to enter the USA has its limitations and complications for the future.

Hi! German granny here with an x US hubby and 2 US sons (my sons got their US Passport just like that cuz of their father) we had immigrated in 1999 to SC...I had to go through a rigerous process to get my "Permanent Resident of the United States" carsd. Amongst those I was tested for Aids, got fingerprinted etc etc etc and each part cost us thousends of fees! I had all my documentation from Germany incl. a document issued from the highest court in Germany stating that there are no legal entrances for me. I felt treated like a 3rd world citizen in all the things even though I had worked as a secretary/translator for the US Army in Germany for 7 years! I had "produced" 2 US citizens and future tax payers (my oldest served 8 yrs in the US Army) Well, no, it isnt easy at all considering my X just got a stamp in his passport after 3 years that allows him to live in Germany forever more- no fees no nothing!! I am trying to get back to the states now to see my sons again after 12 yrs and my grands who will turn 10 this year and whom I have never want to remain there for the rest of my life since all my family here been gone a long time...wish me luck and financial miracles....

Nobody who migrates legally from my country is 'poor' except they had a sponsor. That shit costs an arm and a leg, people sell their entire lives and it's not assured that you'll succeed.

But I can tell you that before when younger I looked at the US, I did think it was a good idea lol, but quickly moved to consider Australia or Canada, but out of those three, the US is the most difficult to get. And of course I ended up staying in Europe because it's much easier and honestly I love my time off and the social protections we have...

Guys, in America “paycheck” is just another word for one’s biweekly wages. Since there seems to be some confusion; paycheck doesn’t mean a physical check though someone can choose to be paid that way. Most people have their paycheck (wages) deposited directly into their bank account(s) or retirement funds.

Loands. In Italy any interest on loans higher than 18% per year is illegal, called "strozzinaggio" that can be translate with "loan sharking" and you can go to jail for various years for that. It's a serious issue

The people that are trying to get into America think that it is like it is shown in movies. If the movies showed how the USA really is I think they would try for someplace else.

My sister went to love in the USA. She studied there and she met her husband before she moved to the US.

She managed to get a very good job (one of the top notch jobs). She did so well that she was elected to be NC's best employee in that position, being able to get on a board of members that oversee large portions of the company.

She instead took the better way: She got a kid, moved back to Germany, was pregnant again and has 2 beautiful daughters that grow up in a age country without the crazyness of healthcare, gun violence, etc.

They tried in payday loans in England but the government started to put rules on them and they just started to disappear.

As a first-generation Greek, a child of (EU) immigrants who migrated to Greece in the late 90s, I want to make a few points regarding immigration in general to USA or Europe.

First off, the obvious: I don't think a lot of Europeans want to immigrate to the USA these days. Perhaps this was the case 20 years ago when Eastern Europe was emerging from decades long Soviet oppression, but definitely not today. Countries like Czechia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Latvia, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania and Poland are approaching the economic stability and reliability of countries like Germany, Austria, Sweden... The less fortunate ones aren't all that much behind their European cousins, that is in comparison to the USA in categories like work-life balance, healthcare, education, crime, corruption, etc. They enjoy free movement within Europe, even if NOT in the EU/Eurozone and migration is welcomed* (* I'll get to that later).
Second off: USA: The US is a country created and supported by immigrants. It really baffles me the attitude some Americans have towards immigration. But let me get back to the point: the immigration to the US, the legal way at least, is a scam. One of the biggest, perhaps. But what's even worse, is the scam concerning a simple tourist visa. In many countries, the rejection rate is over 50%. even some EU countries that aren't part of the WAIVER program, have rejection rates of over 15%, which is absurd. A TOURIST visa. Just to get a date for an INTERVIEW in the US embassy, you pay couple of hundred of $, with a high chance of never seeing these money ever again and never visiting the US. The rejection rate in China is 70+ percent. For obvious reasons, I guess, but those 70+ percent of people DID pay the ~$200, sometimes more than once. The next level of evil is that you WILL eventually get blacklisted if you get several rejections, but they won't tell you that and let you continue applying and taking your money. Long term work visas are another big scam. Say you have an employer who is a US citizen but you are not. He's vouching for you, he wants you as their employee but you need a long-term visa. And it's not a couple of hundreds dollars now. It's in the thousands. And you can still be rejected without any explanation as to why. Your money is lost.
The US can easily harbor over 600 million people but with this lifestyle of consumerism without productivity to match it, that's impossible. All poorer countries combined cannot support the materialistic needs of 600 million hungry Americans. The US is No.1 in the world by wasted produce every year for the past 50+ years, if not more. Millions of tons of food is thrown away every month.
If illegal immigrants are given better opportunities from the get go (even if on trial basis), the US will be far better off, not just economically. My father once told me that every immigrant he ever met only wanted to be let to work, pay taxes and feed their family. Paying taxes in a foreign country is very important. It's the first step into integration, settling in, blending with society, making sure your rights as a citizen are protected.
Third off: Europe, and particularly the EU: My home country of Greece was mean to immigrants until the big world crisis in 2009-2011. After that things sort of settled in because vast majority of the European immigrants simply left and a lot of businesses simply couldn't function anymore, if not because of the crisis itself, it was because there was nobody to fill those low-paying jobs anymore (THEY ARE TAKING OUR JOBS!!! IMMIGRANTS OUT!!)... On the other side of the EU spectrum is Germany and few others like it. Germany, behold, simply took every possible immigrant under her wing.. even better if it was one from the other side of the corner, fighting a war, while in the same time punishing harshly its own member states here in Europe. They spent gazillions of Euros to feed those hungry immigrants who refused to work, integrate or obey the law and were all born on January the 1st and were all under 18. Germany loved them. Sweden, too.
Bottom line is, we all have pros and cons when it comes to immigration... The real problem is, though, Europe and the USA are at both ends of the spectrum. We are either too good or too bad.
As a final note, I just want to point out that, a city like Istanbul is probably double the size of London, population-wise, it also has double the has 1500 mosques and other similar buildings... 1500. I am not racist or nationalist, but this is wrong. Immigration should be regulated and given only to those who obey the law, follow the rules of the country, pay taxes, be a good citizen. It's inappropriate to go to another country and demand they change their laws and habits just to suit you.

Hi!
Immigration is richness.
Here in Belgium, according to calculations, immigrants (productive or not) make the government gain much more from them than what’s spent for them. Fact most politicians love to ignore (no surprise, here). And I tend to believe it's the same almost everywhere. But generally I think politicians base their politic on the fear (also known as racism) more than to base it on facts.
Fear is easier to sell to voters.

Hi I never comment but this time I have to give you some support on this. You may get some ( or not some but a lot) hateful, uneducated or biased comments by those who sustain and support the system you have at the U.S. (I'm from Spain so take what I say from the info and knowledge from someone that hasn't lived there, but have an idea of how it goes there). Immigration usually gets a lot of unjustified prejudices (linking it with povertness, degradation, crime...) but the benefits to an economy gets left on the side. Populism and sensationalism can stir up emotions and target minorities or certain groups as the active agents of one country's problems.
As I said, my support from across the ocean and congrats for being one of the north american content creators with a well open mindset when confronting new perspectives. Keep the good work!!
