Do you have to have the Google Home device/hub to control smart light bulbs using the Google Home app?

All it needs now is a quick settings panel so you don't have to open the app just turn on a light. Really like the new app though!

Ahhh finally!!! I've been tearing my hair out wondering why after I downloaded this app yesterday, that it didn't look at all like the same app in all your other vids. The amount of time I wasted looking for those 3 lines in the top corner of the opening page is just unbelievable. I thought I had done something drastically wrong with my initial set up, but now see I have a newer updated version of the app... phew! I'm still confused with a few things like why the 'music and audio', as well as 'video and photos' don't open anything when I click on them in Manage Services, but that's ok I'll gradually work it out. I'm just stoked Ive worked out I'm kinda on the right track. Got sick of deleting and reinstalling the same app over and over lol. Thanks for your awesome tutorials mate. Your really helping me :D

How do I create a room where I have a Chromecast TV and a Home Mini? The app just says "In Your House." Also, I have a Home Mini that is in the same bedroom as a TV. The TV is listed in the app as being in that room, but the Mini is listed in "Other Cast Devices." When I go to the settings for that bedroom and want to add a device, that Mini isn't one of the devices I can choose from. How can I put it in that bedroom group?

I have used your channel much recently and your videos are great and super easy to follow. I do have one question and I know it sounds dumb but... how do you add a google home mini on your apple device. I am having trouble. Also... what is the exact app that u should use for this. I have the assistant app but I can’t find where to add the google home mini on it.

Wish the phone/tablet home app also said living room light on like the home hub does at the top. Maybe in future?

I do wish they'd let you cast from YouTube (I have a pixel 2) to the Google Home Mini. The way I do it now is to 'mirror' devices in the home app. The problem is there's a delay in the audio from YouTube on my phone to the home mini. The App is over complex and need simplifying - it took me ages to find the mirror option as it's buried in the personal account tab.

Very good review. I was playing with this new app this weekend. There are also cool new features with routines that now interate lighting and smart plugs. The one thing I can't figure out is how to reboot my home devices from the app. There used to be an option in devices but i can't seem to find one now. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your videos.
