Who are Kara and Nate?!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small business from the spare bedroom of our apartment. We discovered the world of “travel hacking” & became obsessed. So after 2 years of saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we rean out of money and went home to normal life. We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with this lifestyle and did everything we could to keep going. 4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time. Van life was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎

I want to thank Nate for the great shots of opening cupboards, walking through doors, making the coffee step by step, etc. I always think, “wow, he has to do all that set up for just one or two seconds for the edit.” But, it’s those tiny things that make us apart of the journey not just observers. Your dedication for the final product is well appreciated.

Did anyone else get pure nostalgia when Kara and Nate talked about the private island or the floating room in the Philippines? The content has shifted so much, but the enjoyment of watching your adventures is just as high!

The way Nate never fails to wake you up with coffee is absolutely the most heart warming thing ever

How much trouble Nate goes through filming Kara's coffee every morning is beyond amazing.

My wife and I are staying here this week. It’s beautiful, the relaxation deck is up and as I type this, in use haha. The additional tent space is just as relaxing as the hot tub.

I love how Kara and Nate are just signing up for these physical challenges so spontaneously without any prior experience to it 😂 Love this attitude - taking this with me for this year

I have to agree with you Kara; the treehouse is gorgeous, and I can see it as a forever home. I love Eamon and Bec, and wish them all my love and good wishes for a healthy outcome; I have also purchased their new cookbook and can’t wait to try some of the recipes including your famous, green, mean ramen machine.

I think it is so sweet how Nate always brings Kara her coffee every morning before her feet touch the floor. We crack up when all you see is a hand reaching out from under the covers for the cup. Love watching your adventures!💜💜💜

I love you guys so much, and watch every video! I perked up as soon I seen you guys driving up Dick Mountain Drive, as my favorite uncle lives up there. I can’t tell you how excited I was to see my uncle making an appearance with his jeep pulling you out of the snow! I called him up so fast to let him know I had seen him in this video. I hope I have the opportunity to meet you guys some day on one your adventures.

Welcome to Finland! 🥰 You need touring skates: it's way easier and more comfortable to skate long distances with the long blades of the touring blades than with the regular hockey ice skates. Lots of Love from North Karelia, Finland 😊

Even as a Canadian and very used to driving on snowy roads, watching Kara drive with a cup of coffee in one hand, leaving only one hand on the steering wheel gave me so much anxiety. Happy to see you got to your destination safely.

Just a couple suggestions for your culinary skill journey Kara:
1. Always peel ginger!
2. When using a knife especially for slicing / chopping, don't anchor the knife (when you hold the tip down) and use an up and down motion, you should really try to use a slicing motion and move the knife THROUGH what you are cutting like a stroke so you use the entire length of the blade and not just rock up and down on one spot or section of it.
3. Just remember when adding vegetable to ramen (unless you pre-blanch them all) Never add them all at once, they all cook at different times so add them by how long they need to be perfectly done and it really helps to cook your noodles first then remove and keep aside until everything else is ready and then add them at the end for perfect texture.
Also it really pays to spend a little more and get quality Korean ramen packs instead of the old college $0.79 a pack, I recommend the following:
Nongshim Shin Ramyun
Nongshim Neoguri
Samyang (these may be perfect for you PB Ramen)

What a gift! After you're done traveling you have to open up your own coffee shop. The love you have for it...and Nate knows how to work any machine! Thank you...as a 61yo, still working lady. You're showing me so much. In my manifesting...I will hopefully do some of them!!! Safe travels...wish everything beautiful for you both!!
