Having the three gods pop up like that, Zeus holding the little baby and Poseidon grinning like a terror, that was such a nice touch! Really the only god who didn't get personally involved was Hades, minding his own business as usual. He's probably just as tired as Odysseus of all this madness

Apparently, Jorge had intended for Hades to be one of the gods Athena had to convince on Odysseus' behalf, even composing his theme for the song God Games, but he was eventually adapted out.

So, I'm thrilled that you added Hades to the animatic, his anger contrasting against Poseidon's amusement and Zeus' nonchalance. Hades would be one of the gods who would be reasonably upset over Odysseus' actions.

Also, the fact that Hades is drawn with dark lines, unlike the figures of the Shades and his brothers, like Odysseus and his crew, shows that he is physically there in the underworld.

1:00 love the Hades design! Also love how out of the three of them he seems the most angered with Odysseus. Zeus's expression is that of pride over the fact that Odysseus listened to him when it came to ruthless actions. Regally holding up the baby that Odysseus killed in order to keep his family safe. Poseidon looks like he's having fun and cruelly enjoying toying with Odysseus. It was his son that Odysseus blinded, and he responded by with one word drowning over 500 of Odysseus's men without any sweat off his back. But Hades? He's the one who rules over the people who died. He's the one who had to take in Achilles, Patroclus, Hector and the baby. And then he had to take in over 558 men, men who died because of a cyclops, and then took in even more men his brother drowned because Odysseus tried to be "peaceful." Zeus's face is that of an uncaring king, Poseidon's face is that of an insane man having fun without any regards for others, Hades face is that of "you can ruthlessly kill a baby, but a man eating cyclops was too much for you? Then look at them."

I love how the gods appearing are in blue to indicate they're apart of the 'nothing's as it seems' of it all but then Hades pops in with black outlines

this is one of the animatics that I currently know that features hades cuz the rest is either odysseus seeing the infant, polites and his mom but having hades the one to show the souls and be one of the backup vocals for the crew is smart and stops people from asking where hades was when they were in the underworld

Oh. My. Gods!! This is gorgeous! Terrifingly haunting for Odysseus, but gorgeous! I love your design for the gods, the way Hades seems especially pissed off at Odysseus, and the way you showed the men who died??? They're sooo haunting, the drowned one dragging himself on the floor, the one that's almost ripped in half, with only half his face, they're just terrible, I love this!!
