Before we can do more complicated Newton’s 2nd Law problems, we need to understand how to sum the forces with components. Many thanks to my three brothers, Ken, Jim and Chris, for agreeing to be in today’s video! #PhysicsED #flipclass

I pushed myself to venture forth into the unknown of what looked like a very scary lesson and came out feeling really good about force breakdown and calculation, and myself. This lesson brought back so much knowledge that was lurking just below the surface ... Now I can go back and fully understand some of the concepts in some of your other videos.

Thank you for putting stuff out there in so many different configurations because just one little thing can make a concept go from being foggy to crystal clear.

I kinda expected your brothers to be legitimately fighting over the turtle lmao. Nice video, Mr. P!

Yay! No Turtle was harmed in the making of this video! I was worrying about that all along!

Hi Mr.P, Total Net force stored in Turtle as Tension & as you told turtle was strong so not ripped apart.
Also Net Tensional force is so less than other forces that why your brothers or turtle didn't accelerate right?

Guys I'm struggling with this problem. " a 500 kg piano is being lowered into position by a crate while rowan and Trevor positioned it with ropes pulling by sides. rowan's pulls to the left at 15 degrees below horizontal, with 500N of tension while Trevor's rope pulls towards the right at 25 degrees below horizontal.
(a) what tension must Trevor maintain in his rope to keep the piano descending at a constant speed?
(b) what is the tension in the main cable supporting the piano?
