I think some people will have some prejudicial logic that because Europe has so many talented teams, why are they only given 2 spots and based it on rankings instead. I know for a fact that Asian or African teams have inferior talents compared to Americas and Europe. But do you ever wonder why the Olympic logo has 5 rings in it? It's because it is established for camaraderie of the 5 continente they represent (Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania). They need to make sure that all of the 5 regions has their own representation in the tournament. That's why Europe and Americas has been given 2 spots compared to others to reward them since most of the powerhouse teams comes from those two continents. Competition is great but a great sense of belongingness unites every continent in the Olympics.

Very disappointing. 6-7 teams from Europe deserve a spot at the Olympics. They should've just gone every team that went to the quarter-finals should've got a qualifying spot for the Olympics. Spots 10-12 (host country excluded) should be the best 3 teams battling it out after losing contention for the podium. Allowing teams to still gain something that doesn't include a podium position.

That’s kind of bad way of qualifying, as Europe has many good teams that are better than others but will be left out, but oceanic only has 2 teams.

It would make more sense to make sure the best teams get in there, but I guess it’s better to have more diverse arrange if countries in there.

Ok, qualifying from Europe is quite a task. So many great teams are left out each time.

Am I the only one notice it? Seems like it's unfair, because there is just 2 teams under fiba Oceania?. So it's like Australia will be always qualify for Olympic and too unfair to Europe because there's too many country from europe. If there is just 2 country playing for Oceania they should include this 2 country to participate or play under Fiba Asia or Europe.
