We revisit the Razer Phone after it has been on the market for a couple of months. Some of the specs include a 5.7-inch QHD IPS display with 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 835 processor with 8GB of RAM, dual 12-megapixel rear-facing camera sensors, Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, 4,000mAh battery, and Android 7.1 Nougat. How do you like Razer's first smartphone?

another one of those reviews who focuses on camera (and any other things) rather than gaming, this phone was made for gaming, what about reviewing more about the gaming experience, battery life, heating problem..etc..

Honestly everyone but me seems to have a problem with the rectangular shape
of this phone. I absolutely adore it compared to the curved edges of all new
smartphones out there. Curved just means less grip and glass means its way
more prone to slipping out of your hands. its like most smartphones today are
the equivalent of handling a wet bar of soap.

When I got into the smart phone trend years ago. I loved my Iphone 5 for being
compact and rectangular. Just worked better for me. Now in the present. The Razer
phone sacrifices the size but retains that rectangular look and metal body.
making it a phone that I will buy right off the bat SIMPLY because of its housing.
say goodbye to slippery brittle curved and glass phones.

I love mine, sure it does not have a great camera but I was already aware of that before I bought one. The 120hz refresh rate has spoiled 60hz for me haha. The battery lasts me over a day of normal use, it does drain a lot quicker when I play heavy 3D games or when I'm emulating, getting about 4½ to 5½ SOT with 20% left with heavy gaming and 7½ to 8 Hours of SOT with 20% left with roughly 2 days usage. (It is rare I get below the 40% mark at the end of the day and I never let the battery run flat unless I really need to)

I'd say the camera is still a bit better on Google camera app than the default one. I'd say the picture quality is still better than my S6 edge. I rarely take photos though so I could be wrong. I think if people are not bothered about the camera quality of a phone but want really good battery life and a very smooth experience, I would highly recommend them to have a look at this phone!

Bought this phone this month. Coming from iphone and the speaker quality is the best I've heard, better than my old HTC M8 with boomsound speaker couple years ago. If you use this phone for multimedia which most everyone does, then get this phone. I could careless about the vibrator. The updates made the software little better but over time that will improve. I wished it had wireless charger and headphone jack, dont really like carrying an adapter.

People are worried about the camera & the price. Just think if apple added 120hz 1440p rn now and they were the first ones to do it i wonder how much they'd charge for it xd

thx a lot for the vid.
I've seen some reviews of the phone.
Buying it cause I've been waiting for the release back in 2016 and wished to save up for it as I had a slowly dying HTC ONE M8, loving the DAC and sound quality of both the JAACK and the speakers..
The ability to change cpu frequencies is very attractive as 50% of the reason of me rooting a phone is usually the ability to limit my phones cpu max frequency so I'm sure if it gets a software update or anything large to work with while I'm not on it to stop or deny it. It doesn't overheat right away and eat up my battery in 20 mins of a school lesson.
Thing is I've seen the camera app wasn't very good so I'm happy you've covered them trying to fix it in updates!

Definitelly a very worth video to shot and watch! :)

This maybe be a bit niche but 120hz refresh rate is a godsend for games like VG(Popular esports moba) and Critical Ops(Great CSGO clone). Even if you dont play competitive stuff often its still a great phone for gaming fans as we enjoy the small things like custom refresh rate and game by game adjustments.

If the Razer phone 2 produces a flagship quality camera, brighter screen( or finds a way to make oled reach 120hz ), and updates processor to snapdragon 845 along with a flashy design it'll attract a much wider audience

In my experience, there's nothing wrong with the actual main camera sensor. The Google Pixel camera apk works *wonders*, but the 2x zoom camera is straight trash with no chance at redemption.
I did way underestimate the sheer size of this thing, though. As my pants fit more snugly over time (especially after the holiday season) I'm finding it hard to even bend my leg far enough to sit down when it's in my front pocket.
Netflix crashes the whole phone when you try to start watching for the first time in a day. Every day.
Sometimes the screen flickers barely perceptibly on darker grays, like the color of the pull down menu, and it could really use a bit more brightness in general.
However, with the 1440p display running at 120hz, fantastic speakers, huge battery, the Spartan approach to bloatware, ample 8 gigs of RAM (it's so satisfying to flip between a half dozen apps and never have to wait for a refresh, ) and a rugged design that stands out from the crowd of bezelless glass sandwiches, I'm head over heels for this brute of a phone.
If only there were an OtterBox available already.

I love how solid the phone feels to me, the aluminium is a nice feeling compared to the fragile glass backs of most phones these days. The fluidity is insane and I'm not a camera person so it doesn't bother me that it's not good.

First off I would like to say your channel is very entertaining and very filled with information that you don't get elsewhere most of the time! Secondly I do have the Razer phone I actually bought it when it first came out so I've had it for quite a while now the camera is lagging I agree also the firmware would be better if they updated the speaker a little more though!. Overall I'm very happy with my Razer phone though I only play pubg mobile. On it and a little. Quick fix games but I do see the difference and feel of the game play with all settings set to Max and my Razer phone runs amazingly smooth. The only suggestion that I would actually suggest if you play games on your razer phone pretty heavily after maybe two three games close the app and restart it this help the phone to not hest up as much from the all the data being clloected while game play.

why are people upset about the no headphone jack? The box literally comes with a wire that plugs in the phone then you plug your headphones into that wire. I don't see the problem with this at all lol

Love my Razer phone. Feels fantastic in the hand, it's design gives you that solid feel taming away the worry of the slippery soap feel of other phones. The display is amazing with the 120 refresh rate making the phone just blaze through things.

I use it for work to update and create forms, do payroll, answer emails, etc and it always keeps up without any dropped apps. I don't like the keyboard app that comes with it 'Google' but that can be changed.

It's just a powerhouse. There's nothing it can't do for me and its not riddled with bloat.

Just wondering... did anyone else get issues with the Vibrations of this phone? Heard there are a lot of units that have a Rattling problem. I'm surprised a LOT of YouTube reviewers DO NOT touch anything on the Rattling issue.

Awesome vid. But dont u use a case so does the way it look really matter.. just wondering how many people r willing to sacrifice looks for price and or better hardware as I know I am. I love front firing speakers and I've never lost a phone to water damage so I willing to go with better sound. And the battery is a beast. Also I only own one set of wired headphones and I keep the dongle attached so it works fine. And if u have enough money for multiple high quality headphones buy extra dongles. Plus one more thing u might be able to make happen. With these new dongles can anyone make them to carry software that will increase the quality of the sound from our phones with adding a DAC or something. If it's possible maybe u can let me know. Thanks for the vids I'm always watching.

This phone is perfect for playing vainglory, that 120hz display just makes the gameplay so buttery smooth, so on this perspective, I am well satisfied, though the bulky chassis sometimes make me feel a lit little bit difficult to handle the phone in one hand. But yeah, the phone is well suited to playing games like vainglory.

Can you actually turn on the battery percentage so that it is visible in the icon? Like the other smartphones?

It's 500 CAD right now (sale price at best buy), and I feel like that is an AMAZING PRICE, considering picking it up just for the value...

I'm getting my Razer Phone next week hopefully. I'm honestly very excited to get it due to it being a phone for gamers more or less. I'll leave my thoughts on the phone here after I've had it for a full month to see how well I like it or not.

You should go into more detail about the sound, does it have a headphone DAC? is it like the pixel 2?
