Razer Phone 2 After 3 Months - Gaming Ahead Of Its Time?

I've just spent nearly three months on and off with the Razer Phone 2, and in that time I've learned that this phone is actually one of the coolest products I've used. The only reason why I held off the review is because if this is marketed as a gaming phone, I needed the accessory that would turn it into the ideal gaming phone for me, and It's here. I'm Jaime Rivera with Pocketnow, and this is my long term review of the Razer Phone 2.

I literally cannot go back to an average smartphone. This 120hz display is just beautiful. Every day I swipe between my home screens just to admire how swift my screen's display is. I used my mom's note 9 for a moment the other day and my goodness it felt so laggy despite being very responsive.

This phone is better than all others for the display alone. Yes, you should buy it.

I don't game but I got this phone because it had everything I wanted. I'm tired of year after year of round corner phones and I'm tired of bezel-less phones. I want a phone that has a WIDE screen and not the narrow screens that all of the other phones now have, including the Note. I wanted a phone that is fast without jitter and lag that all of the other phones have, and that's what I got. I wanted a phone with great dual stereo speakers, and this phone has them. The only thing I would want that this phone doesn't have is OLED. But then it would be a technical feat to get an OLED screen to run at 120 Hz. It can be done, but then you're looking at a $1, 500 price tag at least.

Just got one of these phone for an unboxing and have to tell you they are some *smooth stuff*. The back is annoyingly dirty but in the dark the color changing logo makes up for it. Only thing it can not make up for is the camera, it needs a steady hand and some patience while using because oh man that thing crashes like a website on cybermonday. Anyways some might argue about the missing 3.5mm jack however at least they had the decency to add a dongle in the box that you can use for the first 3 days until you loose it. -Or just keep the dongle on your headphones and loose both as we all know dongles = lost

iPega controller is compatible with almost any game including emulators, I think that what you looking for, its about $20-30.

Gaming tablet would be a great idea, especially for PUBG Mobile. Longer battery life, and the new technology on phones that resolves thermal issues.

Also, it's one feature other manucturers could fix but the Nvidia shield tablet uses a game overlay for controllers and for games that dont support controllers. It simulates a touch screen and assigns keypad strokes to touch inputs.

Razer phone 2 is the best power phone you can get for $499. That's a steal compared to other phones in the same price range and is comparable to $1000+ phones. My mother wanted to upgrade from her iPhone 7 Max and wanted to try using android. She still has the newest iPad Pro as her primary electronic device since her retirement, but got bored of iOS. We looked at the OnePlus 6T and the Galaxy S9 (recently the S10) for the past month and decided on getting a new Razer Phone 2 off Amazon after seeing that the phone was listed at $499. She's had it for a day now and loves it. Her main issue was the 64gb storage that came with the phone. We got a 128gb sd card for the phone which solved the storage problem. Camera quality is great, but not as amazing as my iPhone XS, but she doesn't seem to notice even though she records and take pictures of everything. She mainly got the Razer Phone 2 for the display (120hz refresh rate and HDR), sound quality, and the design of the phone. I've never seen her act so childish and giddy because she can change the lights on her phone. She even started downloading and playing games which she has never done before.
For $499 (I've seen it for $475 on some sites other than Amazon) this is the best value powerful smart phone. My mother mainly uses it as a media consumption device and as a way to control her smart home which is overkill, but I couldn't find a better premium phone at this price point.

It's not much about calls or call quality anymore. It's the processor, the camera, the ram etc. HMD - handheld multimedia device 😁
