You can buy one of these handy mechanic remote cranking crank starter starting button switch is a pretty much any auto parts store. Not very expensive. Very easy to install. Then just turn the key on for your vehicle, and you can then spin the engine over with the remote. That way you don't have to have a helper to turn the engine over while you're investigating things in the engine compartment.

Just don't forget to turn the ignition key back off when you're done. Otherwise the key will stay on and you'll probably kill your battery or something else.

I went onto eBay and bought Early '70s snap-on remote start for 20 bucks. I'm going to test it out in a little bit. I've always heard great things about vintage snap-on.

And if you have a manual transmission that has a clutch safety switch, disconnect the switch and it should work just fine. I like this tool, never seen this before and I've worked on many cars this could have been useful for lol. Going to pick one of these up next time I'm at the parts store for sure.
