Bringing home my high red pineapple green cheek conure on friday been bonding with her/him for about a month now, bought him from a good family that owns a bird shop that actually proved to me they hand feed all their babies. This little dude was the only one out of all the brothers and/or sisters that was even interested in me when I went to take a look at them when they still had no feathers. I picked him up and and he wanted to climb all over me and stare at me and so I just knew it had to be him that I chose.

The bonding process over the past month has been amazing, he's fully weaned now however on friday I will be picking him up and I can't wait. I'm super excited to train and super super excited to do recall training with him because all I wanna do is see him fly. Thanks to you and others of course I've been able to learn more and more about these birds and other bird basics so for that I thank you. The goal for me in the future is to own a blue and gold or a scarlet macaw but of course I wanted to start small and learn with other birds and work with other birds first and just learn more and more as I go. The dream that will probably never happen due to the price point would be to own a hyacinth macaw, I have gotten to meet and interact with their hyacinth up at the shop and he is just the most beautiful bird ever. Again thank you for helping us out and excited to continue watching and learning!

So we recently moved our conure into our bedroom. she seems SOOOO MUCH HAPPIER. We moved her because I needed to steam my carpet, but she's so much happier. she can see other birds, and outside and she sees where we "nest" These videos def helped

I'd suggest a second bird as an addition to that great list. Too many people think that "they" will be the bird's companion, but that self-sufficiency is really important & having 2 of them means they can entertain each other as well & it just makes them MUCH happier if they have a friend to preen & be preened by, like they would in the wild. Parrots are very social & tactile species, they really need that! So many bird "experts" don't even mention it though, or in some cases even advise separate cages for each bird, which really isn't good for them to not have a companion!

& reading the comments, my other suggestion is target train, target train, target train. Doesn't seem to matter how many times every bird person on youtube says to do this, far too many people still seem not to do it & then ask questions like how to get their bird out of their cage, which is VERY easily solved with target training. EVERY bird should be target trained as their first training & bonding exercise!

My advice would be to set up a bank account for your bird for vet bills as it can be very expensive. For a birds first wellness check it's over $500.00 in my area. The first visit can include a fecal test, base blood work ( chemistry) and or viral test and examination. Viral testing is important to check for disease that can be contagious to other birds if you have any.

I just got 6 birds, and I didn’t know how to entertain them, play with them, or even how to take care of them. So I was researching for tips and all, but none of them were helpful. I was about to give up, until I came across one of your videos. I started watching more and more and I learned things I didn’t know! Thank you so much your videos help a lot. Even tho my birds don’t have that much trust in me, I will keep watching your videos and use your very helpful tips!

luv ur vids, you speak with knowledge from actually being around your birds. I adopted a cockatiel from very abusive people, that was 27 years ago, he still won't let me touch him but that's ok, he does interact with singing and talking to me which i enjoy very much, since when i first got him he would stay in back of cage and hiss at every thing! He enjoys freedom of flying and company of my yellow monk. Keep up the vids

my mom is getting 2 conures for herself, and she wanted me to train since I'm quite literally snow white, and know a lot abt animals, I didn't know much about conures, so this really helped, thank you, and straight back to my other 50 tabs abt conures..

When I came home from baseball games or school my old parakeets would get so excited, I miss them SO much but we moved and they were very stressed to the point of fighting each other, so they now live with my older cousin in her dorm and they're doing so much better <3
