Hi great video. As someone getting this laptop soon this video was really what I was looking for. Quick question that I am curious about. Even though it does play less taxing games really well, is there any issues like coil whine or battery draining while its plugged in when in gaming?

I dunno why every Mac gaming forum thread or video talks about building desktops, obvs they’ll be better. No one looking into gaming on a Mac is wondering that, we want to know what we can expect from our daily driver computer bc we don’t want to build a bespoke gaming desktop. I built a big ass PC once, and it was super fun for a while but there’s no way I’ll ever do that again. Next time just skip that part. It’s like saying your weekend race car is faster than p much all road legal cars, we know, but like...I gotta go to work in this thing too.

With High Sierra and Boot Camp, would external GPUs via Thunderbolt 3 (accounting for some 15% performance loss) offer a better solution?

Building a desktop is stupid if you want to be mobile. And macs can be combining both if you have a preference for macOS: serious work and gaming. On the 15" naturally, and on every other mac with an egpu.
