Apple doesn’t really do anything until they can do it really really well so I wouldn’t be surprised if over the next 5 year we see some seriously powerful Macs that work well for gaming. I say that because they’ve shown that the m2 is pretty dang impressive and will only make it better and better. Not a popular comment but I think it lines up with their philosophy and history😊

I am using both. Windows for desctop gaming machine and mac as laptop. I play on the mac too by the way - League of Legendss, even windows games using a special programme.

A Mac is not a gaming device. But, if a game is compatible, it *can* game and do it well.

Apple has really powerful hardware inside their machine. It's such a shame that developers are not taking advantage of that hardware. It is definitely a lot of work. They first need to optimize games to run better on MacOS which was bad even in the Intel days. Then they need native support for the ARM architecture and also they need to optimize games to communicate with the Metal API. A lot of work but not impossible

I had a surface laptop 4 maxed out… it isn’t worth it. The intel graphic card won’t let you play anything and if you find something that is compatible with the Iris Xe, the lag is nauseating. My iPad Pro M1 is more capable than the SL4, but I opt out for selling the SL4 to get a Surface Studio Laptop RTX 3050Ti used like new for $800 with the surface pen and that one is the way to go… if you’re looking something for digital art, game design, development and gaming, the Studio is the one to get instead of a Mac

have a 2021 MacBook Pro similar to this one (16 inch), its very good at basically everything I do + has no ads baked into the os (windows 11 has ads for TikTok and instagram in the menu)
