Companies hoping to build President Donald Trump's wall on the US-Mexico border have until the end of Tuesday to submit their proposals.

But before the construction can begin, government must acquire land along the border that’s currently in privately owned, a move that might lead to legal battles.

Al Jazeera’s Heidi Zhou-Castro reports from Los Ebanos, Texas.

For the government to take someone's land they've owned for over 100 years, and pay each family member $50-worth, a piece, is far beyond an insult.

I would like to see them try to take land from a militia whose land is on the border

Which side of the river are they building it on? Can't believe letters were sent out in January to purchase (steal) land for this thing!

The lady at the end talking about the riverbank eroding... she can only speak Spanish and her family has been there for generations?
