The biggest culture shock for me was visiting Polish relatives. They force feed you the entire contents of their fridge and cupboards and watch you eat it.

Chciałem kupić rower, zadzwoniłem do faceta, zapytałem: „Jestem teraz w Otwocku, a gdzie jest pan?”. Odpowiada: Radom.
Nie wiedziałem, że tak nazywa się miasto i myślałem, że to było "Riadom”, w językach rosyjskim i ukraińskim jest takie słowo, które oznacza „blisko”. A między miastami jest 60 km.

Bardzo miło słyszeć od obcokrajowców tyle ciepłych słów skierowanych w stronę naszego kraju. Człowiek widzi te wszystkie zalety wyraźniej dopiero wówczas, gdy sam przeniesie się zagranicę. I absolutnie pełen podziw za tak piękne posługiwanie się językiem polskim, nie wiem, komu poszło najlepiej, ale po niektórych nigdy bym się nie domyśliła ich narodowości! Zaskakująco dobrze poszło osobom anglojęzycznym, brawa za akcent!

I’m surprised the Italian guy didn’t mention my Romanian culture shock: that Poland has its own words for pasta and you now have packs with two names on them 😂. I go into the supermarket looking for fusili only to discover they’re świdry or świderki

I've noticed that public transport is one of those little culture shocks. On one side it's obvious, that we need transportation to help moving millions of people every day within vast urbanized areas but.. then... it's nice to see it actually working. Majority of transportation hubs are clean and safe, people travel quietly, often staring into their books or phones, buses arrive ON TIME (not too early, not too late), plenty of bicycle lanes in the capital. Long story short, when you live in a big city, you don't have to rely on using a car for daily matters. Warszawa is an example of 'walkable' city design where majority of places you can reach easily (GP clinic, school, local food or drug store, coffee shops or cinemas).

I've visited Zakopane with a Polish friend long time ago (been 4 times in Poland so far). My English was very poor at that time, so we have spoken in German with each other. I wanted to buy some cheese from the old ladies, but they refused to sell me. I had to talk on Hungarian to prove I'm not German. Love to our Polish brothers from Hungary.

Wracałam z wakacji coroczny do Polski od soboty. Spotkałamy rodzinę i przyjaciół mojego narzeczonego. Szok kultury najbardziej był do spontaniczność jak był innych odwiedziny. Planujemy coś jak spotkamy o piątej ale faktycznie spotkamy później bo oni muszą zrobić innych rzeczach pierwszy... To jest trudny, bo ja lubię ma plany. Ale z każdym odwiedzanym jest lepiej. przepraszam z moją Polskiego, muszę uczyć więcej... To był dużej lekcji mojego wakacji. Muszę widzieć więcej Easy Polish 😅😂
