I am a long-suffering Vikings fan, but I repeat myself... I am comfortable with the plan the Vikes have for his development.

Vikings Fan here. I'm excited about our QBs. If Sam is balling out, let JJ sit. There has never been a rookie qb in the Superbowl, and it's probably for good reason. Only like a quarter of QBs over the past 20 years have started week 1, and of those, only a couple actually got a ring in their career. Sitting isnt a bad thing. It just means we got some depth to play with. Skol.

You did not offend any Vikings fans. O’Connell has been clear that he needs to develop, and there is no need to rush him. The Vikings know exactly what they’re doing.

I’m a vikes fan. Dude, that’s not a harsh truth. It’s just straight facts. I feel like most of us are okay if he isn’t the franchise guy right away.

It's not a harsh truth to say that J.J. isn't ready to lead the team yet. He's a rookie, and even with our current situation, he shouldn't be forced to rush his progression and improvement into the NFL. Giving him time will help both him and the team long into the future. I just hope other Vikings fans see that

One thing I find crazy is how almost every failing franchise's fanbase thinks that a rookie QB can start fresh out of college. Meanwhile you look at every elite QB and they had at least 1 season to learn and get adjusted to the league from a veteran QB. Tom Brady learned from Drew Bledsoe, Drew Brees from Doug Flutie, Patrick Mahomes from Alex Smith, etc. The Green Bay Packers have this down to a science, currently having three elite QBs in a row: Brett Favre -> Aaron Rodgers -> Jordan Love. I only elite QB that didn't need a prep-season was Peyton Manning, who is basically once-in-a-lifetime generational talent at the position from day 1 (although a prep-season might've helped his anger management towards kickers). Either way, glad to see the Vikings are actually giving McCarthy a fighting change in the league.

As a Vikings fan, I believe everything that you said is true. Let him sit and develop it’s what’s best for this franchise and gives us the best chance to win in the future. build up our roster for the upcoming years and get him ready. Everything that this franchise does from here on out is about development and success for our players.

As a Michigan fan. I think if the Vikings allow JJ to develop naturally he will become a franchise QB. Now if you want to get him in on day 1. Beef up the o-line, get better RB’s and pound the ball and let JJ make the small throws until he is comfortable. Either way, I think through time, JJ can be top 10 maybe top 5 in the league.

Sam darnold being qb1 means literally nothing as a knock against McCarthy, the Vikings said before the draft before they even picked McCarthy that Darnold would be QB1, and even after drafting McCarthy they still said darnold will be qb1 unless McCarthy shows perfection bc KOC said throwing a young qb to the wolves is the worst thing u can do for their development

Great video. Will be keeping my eyes on JJ. Excited to see his NFL career.

Skol Vikings here! I'm honestly hoping that The Darnold can have a decent season while JJ develops. He's one of the youngest QBs coming in as well, at just 21. If that means we get quality play down the line, I'm all for it!
Keep it up ASC, love your stuff 💪

Within days of those initial reports he was making huge improvements. He needed to fix some footwork stuff. Look for him to steal the job at some point this year if Sam is injured or struggles. Great video!

The great thing about this is that people undervalued JJ, and I got him with pick 6 in my dynasty league

This was a great synopsis of how we came to draft JJ and why. Good job.

Im a Vikings fan. I loved this video. This is everything ive been saying about JJ as well. I dont think he is ready either. At least in comparison of Nick Mullens and Sam Darnald. Its still early so this is definitely not a bad thing. Too me it dumb starting a Rookie QB week 1.
