My cat shredded my leather couch in less than a month 😩🥲 The tiger cat is smart and trainable- the tortoise shell could care less, she does whatever she wants. My old persian cat never scratched the furniture, just was a non issue.

I trim my cats nails every 3 weeks. Scratch posts and floor ones all over the house.

Where did you purchase your couch cover? I like the pattern. We are having issues with our kittens scratching the fabric that goes around my adjustable bed. I will need many scratch pads around my queen size bed. Have you tried essential oils like lemon, that cats dislike?

It’s one reason I may not keep a rescue we rehabilitated from a bad injury. I just bought new corduroy furniture and it took me years to afford this furniture. I’m sad if I can’t figure it out cause I don’t want to keep him in a cage forever. I let him out many times a day but with me watching him like a Hawk and I’m exhausted. And I don’t want to declaw him that makes me feel bad and takes from their true nature and protection.

Any suggestions on getting your cat to stop scratching the rug? I’ve tried putting various scratchers on the rug, putting catnip on the scratchers, and covering the rug with a soft blanket, but my cat will still seek out the rug for scratching 😅
