It would have been really cool to have Frank as a professor in a college class. He could probably teach just about anything and do a great job at it.

INFJ: Everything. Everything stresses us out.

as an ENFP, it is true that I tend to be dramatic and say that I'm dying when getting a small bruise, at the same time I'm optimistic and laugh about it and be sweet about it. Yes this is just as confusing as it sounds like

My mum basically called me out on never using Fe (but not in those words) when I was in my early/mid teens. That actually stuck with me, and I've very intentionally worked on it over the years.
It's weird, because I've been finding over the last few years that people have started to see me as someone they can talk to when they are feeling stressed out. I think that calming stressed out people has somehow become one of my superpowers, and yeah... it's super weird.

INTJ to everyone else: Nothing seems to phase them.
INTJ internally: Exsistenal crisis, coffee ♾️, emotional train wreck, internal mental wars.

Hey Frank, could you make a video on the loops of each of the 16 personalities??
Edit: Thanks guys for the likes and comments..😊😊

That is quite the outfit, Frank! Are you a scientist? Doctor? Professor? A fancy British gentleman who is neither royal nor famous, nor does he have a job, yet somehow he is wealthy and busy?

No need to choose! Nailed it!

When I get stressed I hate anything that anyone says, and want to be left alone. When that isn't done, I burst out with tears and anger.

Speaking as an INTP, I think it would be super cool to see in depth problem solving tests done on strong representatives of the different personalities
Problem solving is such a clear and distinguishable way to see the differences in the personalities and there are always different people with different techniques to offer

Buuuut some of us (hi) are not motivated enough to actually talk to people and find test subjects… someday though… I can feel it coming

Probably doesn't apply to INFP's in general, but this is how I am when stressed out:

Light to medium stress- People seem to be as inefficient and incompetent as I usually believe I am. 😄

Medium to heavy stress- What do I have to do to get people off my case so I can go back to doing things the way I want? 😂

Personally I don't really think the "grip" happens because you're "burning out" your dominant function, but I also don't think it's because you're "under using" your inferior function in such a way that it causes problems for you.

I'm an INFJ and I feel like I can use my Ni all day every day, it's basically my "auto-pilot", and like you said Frank, we're most comfortable using our dominant functions - even/especially in stressful situations. So I do think the "imbalance" with our inferior function _is_ the culprit, just not in the way you and grip-theory presented.

I think every type has a "complicated" relationship with their 4th function, they both like and dislike it. As an INFJ with inferior extraverted sensing, I dislike that I get distracted and overwhelmed by sensory inputs, but I also like that I can get into that " balanced flow-state" where I'm picking up sensory input and accurately predicting the future based off it.

I get a lot of enjoyment out of music, and I really like getting out of my head by doing something sensory intensive, like going to the cinema where you basically have no choice but to pay attention to the screen, and in doing so getting "out of your head" and forgetting your Ni for a second.

So My personal theory about our relationship to our inferior function is that our mind/body knows when we need certain things; we get hungry when we haven't eaten, we get thirsty when we havent been drinking, and we get an impulse to use our inferior function when we need to "balance out" from our dominant function (but not necessarily from "burn out"). That _May_ coincide with being stressed out, or us creating problems because of our dominant functions, but I feel like the Inferior function can also be used as a respite in a way.

When I "binge Se" I don't feel particularly burned out, I just have that impulse because something (not Ni) feels a little out of whack. Maybe it's just that you Need to use/stretch your inferior function every once in a while?

Then again, that May also depend on what function is your 4th to begin with, maybe I'm "lucky" because Se is relatively easy to "satisfy" compared to many (if not All) the other functions?

Anyway, those are my 2 cents, anyone can feel free to reply if you have the same or different Idea, I'd love to hear what others think!

EDIT: I saw a typo, but I also added some things.

INFJ here:
I need to do work in my backyard, clean my house, tidy up my desk, my room and on and on.
But first and most important of all:
I need to write about it in my bullet journal.

I'm an INTJ but in certain situations under stress I can still get pretty bossy like an ENTJ

As an INFP, I've definitely come the closest to acting like an unhealthy Te-dom when under a great deal of stress - in terms of being less agreeable, more impatient, more judgmental, more aggressive, more frustrated with people's incompetence and inefficiency.

But I think I've only gone full Te-dom in face-offs with actual Te-doms - who, incidentally, are the most likely types to stress me out.

The INTP part is so accurate omg! 😭😭

INFJ: what stresses me out? Details.
and the rest.

Also reading about the functions and watching your videos are helping me to get in contact to my mostly ignored Se. I now often try to create a connection to my Se, asking myself, how I am, what I see, eat, drink etc. I want to balance it a little bit.

Lol. You are a genius! INFJ in here. That's literally what happened to me the other night! Not even having to go far for an example.
I have been taking melatonin supplement for a while and i guess i shouldn't have. 30 min after i took a melatonin gummy the previous night i started to experience have never known for me before terrible side effects. The room started spinning in front of my eyes. I began to feel extremely dizzy, nauseous and uncoordinated. I barely got out of bed, feeling out of breath and having trouble to stand up without wanting to throw up. So as i was fighting the feelings of losing consciousness, i still didn't reach for the phone to call 911. I just sat on my bed and tried to recall the event of my dad getting his second stroke before he died 20 years ago. So i just cold-heartedly tried to compare the symptoms i experienced at that moment with what i remembered my dad went through. Then i started to think of all the knowledge i've acquired throughout my life of what i could possibly do in a situation like that and trying to figure out if it were my last moments on this Earth. Then i came to the conclusion that it probably wasn't my time yet (i have certain psychic experiences which led me to believe that i was to live a long life) so i just did my best to apply the knowledge of what i knew to that situation and just decided to wait it out.
For the reference, i don't have anyone. I live all by myself and i've never called emergency that night after all, even after struggling to simply remain alive and conscious that night.
We, INFJs, are many things. But i think lots of people still undermine our true strength and power that we have inside of us and that we don't always show to others...

As an INTJ I find it very stressful when my boss challenges my work ethic when I am actually working.
