Thank you for sharing this. Your story reminds me so much of my own. I was torn between Wicca then Eclectic Paganism and my Pentecostal family. It's funny how, after we discover this side of spirituality, that we always float back to it. Regardless of how hard we try to get away.

I grew up LCMS (a fundamentalist stripe of Lutheranism), became an atheist at 18, later in adulthood got interested in Judaism, then settled on a philosophical polytheism of sorts. Plural divine forces exist--whether you attribute them to physical phenomena or actual gods it doesn't matter. We are here, and so are they.

My mum was a hippy, she's sort of connecting with her catholic background recently.
Talking about the saints and all that, it irritates me as she first exposed me to greek mythology, yet follows what I don't understand.


I was exposed to hippies doing auawaska, they look to any other culture, anything other than European culture to find their spirituality.

I didn't want to worship native Americans gods, or some other non European spirituality. Not that that isn't interesting, but it wasn't for me.
I am not greek, but a mix of European, I'm a hellenist, because I was exposed to the my, and it hits me.
Other types of paganism are deep and interesting as well, but I am unable to shake my attachment to the Greek myths, and the way it's structured makes most sense to me
