Thanks for doing this! :) The thing I love best about the scene where Jesus calls Matthew is where Peter asks Jesus, "Do you know him?" (or something like that), Jesus answers, "Yes" all while Matthew is watching closely. Matthew hears Jesus' answer and decides to follow Him.

The actor, Paras, does an EXCELLENT job playing Matthew! 😀 The fact that Paras shows Matthew as being on the spectrum was a brilliant idea 💡 by the writers! ✏ It's true that Matthew would have been hated by both Jews & Romans at the time! 💔 Yet Jesus chose Matthew, and Matthew was willing to SURRENDER everything ❤ and FOLLOW Him! 🔥 Jesus can choose ANYONE!!! 😀

I am just loving The Chosen. The message in this vid is great. I love the word "willing". There is some much God can do with the willing! Also, Jesus' invitation to folks he came in contact with was often to just come. It wasn't a huge list. Didn't pull out a qualifying checklist. Just Come, once again emphasizing a willingness to try and participate. Jesus can work with the willing to shape and transform them.

I felt this scene was such a great reminder of how we need to climb inside God's "heart and mind" for people to truly "see" them. To everyone else, it was business as usual in Matthew's booth, but Jesus looked past the exterior and seemed to ignite the willingness already stirring there through His invitation 🔥 Love the care that Matthew's character was crafted with and how Paras Patel's portrayal of him just hugs its way into the heart 😁♥️

When I see the characters in The Chosen, I tell myself, the only thing different is the way they dress and live without electricity, and the internet. Other than that, people themselves haven't changed much. I can even see myself just as amazed when Jesus comes back, thinking we have waited so long, and didn't expect it to be like this. The only thing that holds me together is my trust and hope in Christ.
