Nobody expected PS5 level power. Playstation exclusives dont even expect you to have the next gen specs.

But it isn't a PS4 or Pro either.
It's above them. And uses more modern tech.

12GB is more than I expected. Nintendo knows the Switch has to be affordable. I'd be surprised if it cost more than 400

I never expect Nintendo to be top tier in performance. They always make up for it with their creative games and unique features.

i think xb1 or ps4 performance would be perfectly fine for this, 12 gb of ram + nvidia's upscaling should give the switch 2 decent performance

It's like 85% the power of the PS5. Heck it matches (and in some ways beats) the series S in computing power. This thing, for a handheld, is a monster. And it's what's going to be running the new Nintendo games? This is going to be insane. This is almost guaranteed to be a hit as long as Nintendo can still innovate with their first party titles (which I have no reason to beleive that they wont do that).

The switch, didn’t have ps4 or Xbox one power. And based off projections may have finally surpassed the ps2 with December sales. We won’t know the official numbers till later this January

I don't think Nintendo could match the PS5 in terms of performance even if they wanted to. The processor node to create something of that form factor doesn't even exist currently.

Nintendo fans be like "it's gonna surpass the PS4." Look, Nintendo cuts corners. Then they'll see that the Switch 2 is not nearly as powerful as a PS4 and get ticked. High expectations like always with the fanboys.

"we never cared about this stuff before in the past" sorry HUH? The entire idea of the Nintendo 64 and the SNES were that they were both SUPPOSED top end machines graphically, it was the entirety of their marketing and engineering choices (SNES had hardware image handling superior to genesis blast processing, and the 64 was straight up the first 64 bit machine AND could do more triangles per second than the PS1)! Even the GBA had this notion in its own market!

We stopped caring *after* N64, because Nintendo stopped caring too, as they pulled back very, VERY far after realizing the N64 was too difficult to use. Instead of making powerful hardware easy to use, they chose to spend less money on hardware, and just went with a rather typical SPARC chip for the Gamecube, because they were being choked for time and wanted to put their foot in the cheap end market door. Point being, to ignore that Nintendo ever had a "super fast and beast graphics phase" is just not correct.

Reminder that the latest iPads and iPhones can run RE7: Village well with high graphics. If it matches up to that then it's good enough 🤷‍♂️
