Heading West EP:08 MOAB Part II Kokopelli trail solo motorcycle adventure

We pick up half way through day 7 just passed the Hideout Canyon Lookout and head down the Kokopelli Trail on Onion Creek road. The section through the Narrows is top 3 Highlights of the entire trip. It is the last part of section 2 on the Utah BDR. Then we continue onto section 3 of the UTBDR all the way to Green River. After grabbing some supper and running low on batteries daylight and energy, I skip a small section at the end of section 3 and the beginning of section 4 on the Utah BDR and head to Price, Utah and grab a sweet $25 AIRBNB. Best money I spent on the entire trip. On this episode I also add a couple Narrations to tie everything together. I feel like towards the end of the trip I am getting tired and not doing enough live narration for later editing. But, I never really intended to make these videos, too I will cut myself some slack. haha

Thanks again for watching and

Moab views never get boring. I wish I could live there so I could hit those trails year round.

I had a similar reaction to riding Onion Creek, it's a magical place. Good thing the route isn't difficult through there, so much beautiful scenery to keep a person distracted.

Well, another GREAT video, the towers along Onion Creek (Fisher Towers) have been climbed, the first time, recorded in a National Geographic Magazine back in the day. When crossing the Colorado River, the old steel towers in the background are what's left of the old Dewey Bridge, the only bridge back in the late 70s when I first went through there, super narrow, pickup trucks had fold their mirrors in flat to get across. Kids playing with fire started a grass fire that caught the bridge and it just burned completely, sad day. It's wonderful setting at my computer riding on YouTube and Google Earth some of these fantastic roads I missed back in my day. Utah is like Peru, the more you learn about it, the more amazing it becomes...cheers

Love the video series; just the right blend of riding, scenery and narration. I also have a 790R and 1250GSA and love them both. I don't yet have the gumption to take the 1250 on a BDR but I've ridden SOCAL, Utah, Wyoming and Washington and the 790R has been amazing. I'm going to hit the new Oregon route this summer the 790 and I'm tempted to give Idaho a shot on the 1250 since folks seem to agree it's one of the easier routes. I'll be curious to see how/when you select the KTM vs. BMW. Enjoy the ride my friend.

It’s criminal how few subs you have. I found your channel while looking for inspiration for my own adventures. Thanks so much for putting these together. I’m sure it’s a ton of work. Can I ask what navigation app you are using?

Hey bud, me again. How did your 890 do on fuel in this 177 mile section. I have a 1290 and was wondering if I should bring a gallon of extra fuel.
