Unfortunately the last time I rented a U-Haul truck (Oct 2018) "Mom's Attic" was the leakiest place in the truck. Everything that was in this section was soaked and there was only one 2-hr rain storm involved in a cross country move. Be sure you wrap anything you put up there in plastic or only stick packages up there that won't matter if they get wet like lawn toys or garage items.

I'm glad I watched this video because I've moved 13 times using a Uhaul truck each time and I never knew that small space was called mom's attack and why the inside of the truck was made like that or the rails were for tie-downs. Did they have these videos available in the 90s? It would have saved time and money and stopped a lot of arguments, lol. Thanks, Uhaul 😊

crazy that these U-Haul trucks don't have attachment rings for strap hooks. Quite awkward to attach hooks to wood rail, or wood rail studs

Can you use tie down straps inside a uhaul truck..those tiny ropes didn't look very effective.
