What’s great about Bill’s writing in the climax is his childlike attitude, he’s the ultimate example of what happens when immaturity goes unchecked. The theme of Gravity Falls is about the need to grow up, but to remain a child at heart, and Bill’s ultimate goal is to have an infinite playground for eternity. Which is what Dipper and Mabel want, to have summer forever. But he’s defeated by becoming just a memory, an abstract embodiment of youth becomes the past in someone’s mind. It’s great writing.

Notice that when Gideon asks Bill to enter the mind of 'Stanford Pines' to get the deed, Bill ominously says '"Stan Pines..." but doesn't say Stanford. We didn't know this at this point but obviously Bill knows that it can't be Stanford who is at the Mystery Shack because he had MET Stanford and must of been aware that he was still in the other dimension...

I don't know. Just a neat little detail.
