This makes me have a little laugh. Many years ago I was a ground handler for CO [contract]. One morning, the mechanic allowed me to sit in the left seat when towing the MD80 from the hardstand to the gate. Everything was fine until I pulled the brake handle. It split into two pieces. My heart jumped! I then showed the mechanic and he freaked. He told me to get out of the seat and don't say a word!!. The flight canceled because the brake could not be operated without the handle. What a day!
