Simple trick to align disc brakes

The only way to do this properly is by eye and tightening little by little. I align tons of brakes everyday and this kind of adjustment only works with 100% true rotors

Just adjust it by hand. This trick only works like 1/10 of the time. (Usually due to rotors not being true, or the brake hose being secured too close to the caliper, which means the caliper actually bends the rotor into position, rather than the caliper centering itself on the rotor.

I've always spun the wheel, grabbed the lever, then tighten the top bolt then bottom then top then bottom. Works most of the time 🤔

They don’t work, just adjust the gap by eye and then gently tighten bolts. Test, and fully tighten with brake on.

For calipers that only clamp from one side do this without the shim. It will rub a little for a bit as it beds in

I will loosen caliper then squeeze brake and tighten caliper but I have no clue what this does

Nice idea... using a gauge... even for double piston
