Angular Momentum Demo: Platform and Wheel

This is a demonstration of angular momentum using a spinning platform and a bicycle wheel. Pointing the axis of the wheel up or down causes the wheel to transfer angular momentum to the body, spinning it either right or left.

Gyroscopic + cons. of Ang. momentum effect. This is the concept of Gyroscopic effect. In the video( pause at 0:43) consider is wheel is moving clockwise with respect to us( its ang. momentum will be into the screen), then when the top of the wheel inclined towards his torso that creates a torque towards left(w.r.t. us) via Right hand rule, and since change in angular momentum can take place only in the direction of externally applied torque(tau). So, torque is towards left and angular momentum(L) is into the screen, and so wheel REVOLVES in such a way to bring L towards the direction of tau. That's why wheel REVOLVES anti-clockwise if you see from the top around the pivoted point of the rope. And ( Prof.+wheel) together( concept of angular momentum due to which revolution speed of the wheel around a vetrtical axis changes due to the prof. mass) rotates anti-clockwise if you see in video.

I ended up because I was wondering why dirt bikers turn their handlebars whenever their mid-air during a jump. They do this to help them keep control.

Hey thank you so much! I don’t know what exactly I’m looking for so if someone could help me with search terms?
I have chronic pain, no core strength, and I believe things are shifting that contribute to me having less balance. I love to bounce, squat, dance, swing around, anything like that. I have even more fun experimenting with the fluidity of my body when I’m drunk and am not held back by my pain :P I would be more flexible if pain didn’t hold me back too :)

I just want to find more activities that I could do that have the same feeling

Still not sure why we haven't made alien ships yet. Or I suppose the problem is they figured out infinite energy or compacting huge tons of energy in a ship. I guess energy, is the only problem that prevents the impossible from happening.

If you're going to demonstrate something, demonstrate it. Don't do a half-ass job.
