Tiny Dancer has an incredible intro, but the piano work on the chorus is next level.

"I Don't Like Mondays" with The Boomtown Rats absolutely belongs on the list also.

I was at my first Elton concert yesterday - his second to last concert here in Denmark. Can confidently say it was one of the greatest experiences of my life, even though the weather was appalling and I managed to catch a cold, despite my disposable rain poncho.
I'm self taught and have written songs myself for as long as I can remember. Elton, along with Billy Joel, George Harrison and guys like that have been some of the biggest influences on my songwriting, though I've more or less drifted away from them completely after taking up an actual education in music, replacing them with guys like Bill Evans and Brad Mehldau. I think my honeymoon period with music pretty much ended when having to learn stuff became a chore and I was no longer "the guy who knew how to play stuff" (though I know this is a necessary ass-kicking in order to git guud). I didn't think I'd cry at the concert, but when Elton came on and played "Tiny Dancer" and "Someone Saved My Life Tonight", I wept like a child ... proudly. It took me back to a place of inspiration I thought I'd lost to burnout and I came back home with a less self-serious attitude towards playing and writing, which is so much more than I could've asked for. I'm going to a Toto concert in August ... wish me luck

I would suggest
Firth of Fifth by Genesis is still giving me goosebumps after all these years
Merry-Go-Round of Life by Joe Hisaishi is such a beautiful and sweet intro

One of my favorite piano intros of all time is Billy Joel's Prelude to Angry Young Man.

"Walking in Memphis" by Marc Cohn was pretty iconic in my youth. It's a pretty simple progression played in arpeggios, but it's quite the earworm!

Many ABBA songs feature measures with different time signatures. Usually it flows so naturally that it won't throw the listener off.

One of my FAVORITE piano songs is Carole King's "It's Too Late". The riff is SO GOOD and the tone on the piano is just perfect.

I think Bruce Hornsby is still underrated. I'd also say that the piano bridge in "The Way It Is" is an absolute masterpiece.

The beginning of “Faithfully” by Journey, it’s simple but fantastic

If another one of these videos is going to be made there are two songs I’d love to see on it: 1) Simon and Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water and 2) Billy Joel’s Prelude/Angry Young Man. Both masterful intros

For Billy Joel, I'm fond of Only the Good Die Young's intro. Come Sail Away is also really iconic

Talking Billy Joel we need to mention Vienna.
That Intro is just lovely.

You could honestly just do a top 10 Elton John list and it would compete with any other list. His self-titled debut ALONE is full of top tier stuff.

"Easy" by the commodores really has to be up there with some of these songs too

I used to do that a lot with songs I was learning, like "The sheet music is boring, let me do it like this instead" and that made me terrible at classical music and my teacher gave up on me. Turns out if I had a jazz piano teacher I would have fit right in! Your channel really made me rethink what I liked about playing piano and I've changed my style accordingly.

To me, sheet music is simply a suggestion and since I'm terrible at following it anyway, I just get the basics from it and then make it my own.

What you did with the tiny dancer intro, just improving with the chords, is exactly the reason I love playing his music. I just sit down with one of his songs and pick out the chords, and then by improving I’ll have the song down in no time. It’s really fun and I’ll just do that when I’m bored sometimes

I don't know, "hit the road Jack" and "old time rock n' roll" are so simple, but at the same time so fricking good...I think they deserved a place in this list
