The Images of the First T129 ATAK Helicopter Shared

Republic of Turkey Ministry of Interior General Directorate of Security is preparing to take delivery of the first T129 attack helicopter. The image of the first of 9 T129 ATAK helicopters developed by Turkish Aviation and Space Industry (TAI) and owned by the General Directorate of Security (EGM) was shared with the public.
Iraqi Defense Minister Jumaah Enad Saadoonn arrived in Ankara for official contacts on 28 December 2020. During his visit to Saadoonn, he also visited Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) facilities and received information about the products. In the images shared by the Iraqi Ministry of Defense regarding the trip, it is seen that the ATAK helicopter produced for the General Directorate of Security is on the serial production line.
In the previous process, the tail of the ATAK helicopter was included in the images that were reflected to the public again. It is stated that the T101 ATAK helicopter with the tail number “EM-129 ″ will be delivered to the Aviation Units of the General Directorate of Security in a short time.
It is thought that the T129 ATAK helicopters owned by the General Directorate of Security will be used in terrorist operations. It was reported that the EGM, which entered into hot clashes in the operations carried out jointly with the Turkish Armed Forces and the Gendarmerie General Command, will use its own T129 Atak helicopter in the operations.
Qualification tests of ATAK FAZ-2 helicopter were successfully completed in December 2020.
The first flight of the ATAK FAZ-2 helicopter was successfully carried out at TAI facilities in November 2019. The FAZ-129 version of the T2 ATAK, equipped with laser warning receiver and electronic warfare systems, successfully performed its first flight in November 2019 and qualification tests were initiated. The first delivery of ATAK FAZ-2 helicopters is planned to be made in 2021.
Within the scope of the T129 ATAK project carried out by the Presidency Defense Industry Presidency, 57 ATAK helicopters produced by Turkish Aerospace Industries-TUSAŞ were delivered to the security forces. TAI delivered 51 ATAK helicopters to the Land Forces Command, and 6 ATAK helicopters to the Gendarmerie General Command. 2 of the ATAK PHASE-21 configuration will be delivered at the first stage.
