How to test a gasoil pressure regulator / flow regulator (IMV). Demonstration on a Renault Clio 2 1.5 dci with a Delphi high pressure pump. The regulator is removed to show the movement of the solenoid valve when it is supplied with 12 volts. It is possible to carry out the test without disassembling the regulator, supplying it with 12 V and listening to the solenoid valve (tic) when it is powered. However, disassembly makes it possible to evaluate the fouling state of the diesel circuit.

Hi, great video, please what do you do when the pump is blocked? i removed the solenoid valve and i tried priming the bulb, but there was no much fuel coming out from the solenoid housing.

Not a good test, plenty of faulty regulators will work when in open air under no pressure. Put it under 1000 Bar and then see if it works.

Closing contact? 3:41. Does not make sense.There are no normally open or normally close contacts in the valve, a plunger moves when its coil is energised and returns to its position when de-energised, the movement of this plunger opens and closes the fuel ports.

this test does not show the mechanical state of the regulator.current measurment with scope and amp clamp is way more efficient. and it requires a lot less time.

Hello, nice video. I got df127 supply voltage sensor and fuel pressure is 2000bar in rail. car cranks but wouldn't start even with easy start. any thoughts?

The resistance should be 5, 3 Ohm +- 0, 5 Ohm at 20 degree Celcius according to the the original Renault k9k diesel engine workshop manual. Remember about the temperature guys.

It is a shame if this is the method you are testing the pressure regulator.
A pressure regulator usually fails at a certain point, and does not stop working completely
So your test is not at all correct
The pressure regulator should be connected to a device that simulates pressure and flows through it.
Then gradually increase the pressure from 200 bar to 1800. And see that there is no pressure drop at a certain moment.
In 90 percent of the cases, a problem is caused by the vehicle being turned off while traveling, and a computer malfunction occurs in low pressure fuel.

Prueba de regulación de presión de combustible

1) Desconecte el conector del regulador de presión
2) Desconecte el conector del sensor de temperatura del diesel
3) Desconectar el conector eléctrico del inyector nro 3 y el conector de la bujía de incandescencia
4) Retire los tornillos de los soportes de los tubos de combustible.
5) Retire el tubo de alta presión en el inyector nro 4
6) Retire la varilla
7) Use una punta torx para quitar los tornillos del regulador de presión
8) Retire los tornillos del regulador de presión.
9) El acceso al segundo tornillo se facilita quitando el tubo de alta presión del inyector nro 3
10) Retire el regulador de presión
11) Si la bomba no está bloqueada, el combustible debe fluir a través de la caja del regulador cuando opere la perilla de cebado.
12) Verifique que no haya limaduras de metal en el filtro del regulador de presión. Si encuentra limaduras (partículas de metal de color amarillo brillante), la bomba de alta presión debe ser reemplazada
13) Conecte dos clips de gancho a los terminales del regulador de presión
14) En las bombas de alta presión Delphi 1.5 dci, la resistencia del regulador de presión debe ser de unos 5 ohmios
15) Si la resistencia es igual a 0 ohmios, los 2 clips de gancho probablemente estén en cortocircuito: reposicionarlos para que tengan una resistencia > 0 ohmios
16) Para probar el funcionamiento de la válvula selenoide, conecte los 2 cables del multímetro a los terminales + y - de la batería.
17) El regulador de presión es un contacto de cierre (normalmente abierto)
18) Cuando el regulador de presión está alimentado, la válvula de cierre debe moverse
19) Este regulador de presión funciona perfectamente

Hi all, I also have problem with clio 2, 1.5 dci, 82 hp... when I remove fuel regulator valve and start pumping hand pump, I dont have jet like in this video :( can someone help me with this problem? Do I need to replace High pressure pump? I dont have metal particles...

no metal yellow fillings on regulator valve but no fuel come out when squuze priming fuel pump any ideas anyone? if blocked how & what solution please?
