Rob was trained to sing classical opera but hadn't sung opera in 15 years. Austin talked him into it. Austin was trained in musical theatre. Wonderful, weren't they!

This reaction video was doubly enjoyable. Ear candy from Rob and Austin, and eye candy from your gorgeous smile. 😁

"Try" in the title was Rob's humbleness shining through. I've seen opera singers and vocal coaches react to this, and they were all impressed. Rob's voice is more of the classical Italian opera voice, while Austin is more of the lyrical opera voice or a cross-over voice. Both men sang beautifully, but Rob! I don't think I'll ever look at Rob the same again!

I laughed out loud when you gasped. Yeah, they clean up pretty good, don't they. And they sing pretty good, too. I'm so glad they did this. Just shows how really talented they are that they can go from Ring of Fire to Listen to the Music to this, without a single stumble. Amazing.

This presentation just makes me smile 20 miles wide with a very happy heart!!!! ❣ The phenominal talent that Home Free from every artist of this group is impeccable and vast. I have never known a group to have this level of vocal gifting ever. They have no limitation in what they can bring to the vocal world. 💯❣

I believe they said "try" because Austin needed to convince Rob to "attempt" this song. Rob trained in Opera but hadn't done it is many years but Austin knew he still had it in him so....

*This is why music is such an amazing language, all in I do not understand one word they sang, but I felt every lyric, every note, and every emotion, which says a lot about their amazing artistry, talent & delivery❣❣❣

Good morning Britt. Wishing you a beautiful day. I am so glad you are finding connections with Country Music singers. As you can see, they are surprisingly talented in many ways. This is just a great example of what great voices can do. 🎼🎼🔥🌿🔥🎼🎼

Rob studied opera as part of his studies in college while Austin majored in Musical Theater. Both Rob and Austin were very nervous about putting this out there and I think that’s why the title is what it is. From watching reactors who are opera singers, it was fun to pick out the things I had learned from them. All of the guys are multitalented and they each have their own YouTube channels although Rob doesn’t really do much music on his—he and a friend do podcasts about movies.

My German mother-in-law took me to the opera in San Jose a couple of times. I didn’t think I would enjoy it because you don’t know what they’re saying. They had a screen above the stage that gave the English translation. The costumes and sets were fabulous and the music was really awesome. With her German accent I thought at first that she was asking if I wanted to go to the “Oprah” 😂😂😂. Really glad I went with her 👵🏼☮️💜

I have never been a big fan of opera except maybe some Andrea Bocelli & a few others. But I have always appreciated the talent it takes to sing opera. I was pretty impressed with Rob & Austin's version of Nessun Dorma. I have heard this famous song done by Pavarotti. I think I was more surprised by Rob's range & powerful delivery than even Austin's. Pretty good for a couple of country boys! Nice to see them dressed up in suits & looking classy.

I like this, artists daring to step out from their comfort zone, even just to experience something else in the musical universe...

Rob is a classically trained vocalist and Austin is a theatrically trained singer.
They know how to properly use their voices.

I saw in person @ Met Opera Luciano Pavarotti perform this. This is a duet but it's actual 1 person.
Surprised when first saw it. Robb definitely has the operatic voice from the years of training. Imagining him doing this & then End of the road or Butts Remix surprises.

Robb's father was into opera & think (can't guarantee) was honor for him.

During the early stages of the Sing-off while auditioning, a producer approached them. Basically, asked why not use the gimmick of Country acapella group? It stunned them as they never considered themselves 'country'. They sat down & considered this not thinking they had that slant since sang many genres. They then realized country music had Oak Ridge Boys & Statler brothers along with earlier groups. So decided to tag themselves as a country a capella group. It put a competitive edge to them & grew their audience. The Sing-Off was taped so wasn't live, but it generated interest. Sadly, I don't know what happened besides Pentatonix to the previous winners or competitors.

Voice Play & Philahormics became known too.
