'Snake Eater' King Cobra Eats a Lizard..

Our king cobra usually eats snakes, but he's been showing real interest in eating lizards lately! ** the lizard was not alive, it was still born in the egg.

It's great when the silver lining from an unexpected loss of one animal can feed another. When we have quail chicks that hatch too weak to survive, our small snakes get enrichment from the different smells and textures of the new food. And it means a healthy animal didn't have to be put down instead.
