An Unmarked POLICE HGV Caught These Dodgy Drivers!

Im a HGV driver and it's alarming just how many people are using their phones whilst driving and they couldn't careless about it. When ive blasted my horn the usual response is the middle finger from them so i REALLY do hope 1 day they get caught by the police.

I'm a 61year old male and I've been driving HGVs for 40years and standard of driving in the UK is frightening, I wish you guys had the resources to police our roads properly.

This video was made two years ago, to this day, the same policing operation is still in effect to catch motorist & large vehicle drivers using their mobile phones !
Every time the truck goes out on the motorways with a team of supporting vehicles it catches the same offences !
Obviously the message is not being heard & secondly the Police need an easier less costly method of catching offenders.

Why can't the government put more coppers back on the Streets using the money they get from Traffic offences?

You say this I followed an Amazon HGV from Coventry all the way up towards Northumberland deffo a drink driver rang the police 7 times give them number plate told them to look on the cameras give them discription of my wagon an trailer and not 1 police force attempted to stop this person driving 3 or 4 counties I went through an it was only when the wagon pulled off the carriage way to his or hers depo the police pulled by the side of me 2 to 3 miles afterwards pretty poor I would say when you have a 44 tonne killing machine on the road

The "hgv" they had on the scales is actually not classed as commercial it's domestic as you can see he's one of the fair lads and they don't need to bother with many of the penalties commercial drivers suffer so the police did them for anything they could got to collect money haven't they.

Simple to stop it. £1000 fine. And a 1 month instant ban. Ouch that would hurt

I dont understand the mentality of drivers on their phones

I have used my phone twice while driving in my short time, and those 2 times together constitute less than a second, both times to press the volume button to silence an alarm id forgot ive set, dont even have to look at the phone to do that

Can't see why it's not nine points & six hundred pounds fine, you get one chance and then you can go bleating to the judge about exceptional hardships, tough life ain't it.
