These things are bad ass! I'm a gear nut and appreciate just about anything that's interesting with an engine! I've seen a few of these in the states at truck shows and was always amazed at the portal axle set up!

I saw my first Unimog in 1978 in North East Greenland. It belonged to the Danish airbase there. It broke an axle crossing a washed out section of trackway, was repaired then did the same thing in the same place. In 1986 I drove an MB Trac on an off-road course at forestry college and then drove a Unimog, belonging to a neighbouring estate of the company I worked for. Four years ago I missed out on the opportunity to buy one. Great vehicle.

My favourite off-road truck, because of it's extreme capability, it can be used as a swamp buggy, it can be used as a rock crawler, it can be used to haul cargo, it can be used as a shunter, all in one, Toyotas are reliable and capable than all 4x4s, but unimog has extreme capabilities
