Enjoyed this one. I created a project that I didn’t know would be using clips with 2 diff frame rates (30 and 60) and so I don’t think this video addressed it but I liked that there weren’t any visual edits, no sounds, you went over some of the tool as a whole, and it felt more like a class than a typical YouTube creator video. This was refreshing.

As always, extremely helpful. I didn't know most of this.

Thank you!

I thought this was gonna be useless because you have to do it all again if you create a new timeline, but then you dropped the old timeline onto the new, that was a great solution to simply render out to a lower frame rate.

This is exactly I've been looking for. I needed to figure out how to make my video smaller at expanse of FPS. thx

question - when you do this, do the audio effects and general work in fairlight follow the timeline? Or do you still need to remix even though the video came across in one move? Bigger question - does this mean that each timeline contains all it's individualized settings and effects from each resolve page, so you can just drag and drop your mixed timeline onto a fresh one and have everything copy over?

Thanks for the information, good job. I still have a question though. I recorded something at 500 fps and was hoping to play it back at a normal rate as a "slow motion" video. How would I go about doing that? Would I enter the normal frame rate when I create the project, for example? Thanks in advance.

Is there going to be any interpolation and, consequently, any frame loss if I change 60fps in clip attributes to 30fps, then put the clip on the 30fps timeline, and speed it up to 200% (to get the normal speed instead of slo-mo)?

Really good explanation of a complicated requiring problem with DR even still in
Ver 18.0.3 Just a little fast in the MOUSE for beginners but that is why YT has variable Play back speeds

Thanks so much, this (for the most part) solves a problem I come into somewhat frequently!

Thanks for the tip, you could try and keep it a little to the point and quick. Just a suggestion

Is there a way or plugins to set the timeline to 12fps because that was not an option in the dropdown menue.

Two questions come up here. First, you said there were good reasons for the framerate to get locked in, but you didn't say what those reasons might be. Could you elaborate? Also, does Resolve interpolate the media twice if you put one timeline onto a second? In other words, if timeline 1 skips frames, do those frames show up on the second timeline?

This is my quesiton forever, if i shoot normally at 1080/60 in day, 1080/30 night, what should be my proj settings? I got 1080/24, I also received 4k/60. Now I'm more lost. Can you guys help? What should be my actual shooting fps settings vs my editing software's project settings? thanks in advance.

Hey Jay, I have a project for broadcast tv which was filmed in 23.976 but the station deliverables are SD 29.97 and HD 720p 59.94. Is this the only way to do this? Im using Resolve for the first time...

Jay, thanks for the video. I have footage with NTSC and PAL at 23.976 FPS, 24, 25, 29.970, 30, 50, and 60 FPS. Can I combine this footage in Davinci Resolve without getting weird artifacts, stretching, and stuff? Thanks

Hi, I have a question : I make videos with DJI products who record videos in 29, 97 FPS (even if it's written 30 FPS on the camera). The file after is in 29, 97 FPS.
If I want to post those videos on YouTube, do I must create a project on FinalCut in 30 FPS or 29, 97 FPS and put all the 29, 97 FPS in that project, please ? I really don't know if it's not good to open a 30 FPS project for putting 29, 97 FPS videos inside for editing. And what about YouTube ? Thanks

What if I already finished editing a video and realized its in 30 fps, is there anyway to change the whole video I editied to 60 fps without having to re edit?

I have always wondered if it's possible to have 60fps as standard instead of changing the fps for every project.

Hi, so the best is just to film in 24 frames with camera and not with 23.96 is that right? Then it is going to match with Davinchi timeline perfectly and it woudnt ask to change?
