Create a Pilot Hole Without a Drill Bit

If you need to create a pilot hole and you don't have a drill bit, you can use a finishing nail.

A finish nail makes a great bit in soft wood, just put it into the chuck of your drill and use it like a drill bit.

Hi,
I marked the wall with a pencil over the stud, so it was just easy to hold to wood to that mark. I can also drill through without hurting any other surface.
