Van life remote work can be a nightmare if you don’t know what you’re doing.

I’ve been traveling the world as a digital nomad for the past four years, but even I wasn’t prepared for being a van life digital nomad.

Fortunately, after making a bunch of mistakes working remotely from a van, we’ve come up with some pretty clever tricks to make working on the road way easier.

This video is jam-packed with tips on how to work remotely while traveling in a van, and as you’ll see, there’s a ton to consider - from figuring out a van life internet setup, to finding work-friendly camp sites with good service, to working comfortably in a small space and not going crazy...and everything in between!

To make your life easier, I put together a free van living remote work checklist. Grab it in the Resource links below!

And make sure to subscribe and check out our other van life videos for more insider tips!

Heyo! Mitch and Day here 👋🏼

We’re just your typical American-Colombian couple determined to live every second of our precious time here on earth to the fullest. After a 10-month solo backpacking trip through South America, I (Mitch) stopped in Cali, Colombia to take salsa dancing classes 💃🏻. I only planned to stay for a couple weeks, but God had other plans for me. I met a cute Colombian girl (Day) in class, those couple weeks turned into a couple years, and before we knew it...we were married 👰🏻🤵🏼

Now we’re traveling the world full time as digital nomads, supporting ourselves by working online 👨‍💻👩‍💻

Our goal with these videos is to inspire you to step outside your comfort zone, give you an inside peek at our crazy imperfect lives, and show you that you don’t have to be rich to live an extraordinary life...all you need to do is make the choice!

We are currently preparing for vanlife and working on/ from the road and I’ve noticed that videos on YT are either overly dramatic about how vanlife sucks or completely romanticizing the lifestyle. However, this video showed a more nuanced reality and was actually very helpful so thank you!

Coffee subscription from Panera. I see van life/RVers there all the time coming through, at the one close to my house, and doing their work
and no one bothers them. Right now they are giving it away for three month too so free to work there.

I'm trying to make a tiny but comfortable workspace myself now, thank you for the tips. Also, I'm in agreement that reliable internet is a must working from the van. I use HomeFi, I have their Titan pro router which is pretty advanced, I'm happy with it! Thanks again for the insights.

With the fuel prices, it’s worth it to just stay in the campground for financial and psychological convenience.

I have a girlfriend who comes from Medellin Colombia, lives in Spain now.
Me and her support a 10 year old girl.
Would you advise going back to Colombia either Bogota or Medellin??
She says there is alot of unrest and violence now in Medellin. Bogota seems like a better bet, in my opinion.
Again, a 10 year old girl is in the picture.
What is your opinion on this, as far as relocating back to what area in Colombia right now. Also $1900.00
A month guaranteed income for the three of us right now.
