Correction: At 6:23, we state that Chilean President Gabriel Boric is "newly elected" and supported a proposed statute to reform Chile's water laws. He was actually elected into power in 2022 and has already enacted a water law that recognizes water as a national good.

The original voices are way too loud. The translator is talking over them and its difficult to understand.

Water as a business is just one more nail in the humanity's coffin.

Its honestly just pure evil that human beings think they have a right to 'own' water in the first place.

In my village we used to drink water coming from the montains, but 15 years ago they mixed this pure water with the well which is formed from the drainage of waters and is located in the end of the village. Those who have money now buy the water others drink from the taps.

Companies set the rules. Governments come in second. So it's pretty much inevitable.

Water is already the new oil, we need water more than anything else

There is a problem with sound mixing. It makes it near impossible to understand what people are saying neither French nor English.

I think that in the end, money talks. Officials can be bribed, companies and investors will be greedy. Humanity already lost

Climate change has also affected temporal distribution of water - many areas will have to deal with both flash floods and drought. Government investment in rainwater harvesting system can be helpful, and private company can play a better role here.

120% tax on all money made from selling water will kill that enthusiasm soon enough.

The main reason for loss of water table is intensive farming accounting for more than 90 percent of global water consumption. So, it is imminent that we have to shift to crops that are not water intensive. But no one talks about this much. Everyone, points at industrial consumption as the main culprit. But for whom are they producing at the end of the day....they are producing for us, for the society..

Viewing this I am reminded in a gut-wrenching manner of the final frames of "The Big Short".

You were always going to be right. Just surprised at how soon.

It's simple: water is not something that a corporation should be able to pump, pump, pump and everyone else gets nothing. Any politician that allows this should be put in jail, or worse. The people HAVE TO demand that if a company needs water that badly for their business, they should pay for it and not pump aquifers. If that ruins their business, then they never had a business in the first place.
